In SUPCOM you could flick down with the mouse wheel for the strategic view and flick up for a detailed view. In PA you cannot flick down because you'll end up in a zoom that cannot see most of the strategic icons (even if you select the always on option). This means you end up fiddling with zoom more than you should need to just to get to the right level to see the icons yet have the maximum zoom possible. Possible solutions: 1. Zoom level for a planet should be capped at that zoom 2. Maximum zoom should keep the strategic icons for all units on the screen. 3. The maximum zoom which shows all strategic icons should stop a zoom action and you should need to zoom out again to get to the higher zoom level The end goal should be I can zoom by just flicking the wheel, not dicking about with zoom to get to the "just right" zone.
