Improvement Suggestions

    I just wanted to list a few ideas/suggestions for the game.

    Create less of a gap between Lv 1 units and Lv. 2
    Include shields of some kind.
    Include ways to passively counter a planet from destroying your planet (Change path at extreme cost of resources).
    Create a survival feature for at least the commander if a planet crashes into your planet.
    Create a way to upgrade the commanders/modify the looks
    Fix the starting location issue.

    I apologize if this has been covered before, but I think these features could take the game up a notch or two and as a gamer would like to see them.

    A lot of community members are asking for less of a gap between T1 and T2 (myself included) and are working on balance mods that do just that. The latest playtests have some reduction in cost of T2, so maybe it'll work that way.

    Shields are a no for many reasons as stated in many threads. There are many threads on shields, I recommend searching for them.

    Making something have an extreme cost in resources means very little in PA. It is very easy to get a ton of resources and stop all of your production and focus on one thing. If something like this were implemented, then no planets would ever be smashed because they'd be too easily countered. If you don't want to get smashed, then go attack your opponent. That's the answer for a lot of things. If you don't want to get blown up, then you should be attacking your opponent.

    In the future smashing a planet won't destroy the entire planet and will be proportional to the size of the to colliding celestial bodies.

    Upgrading commanders is a confirmed no. Uber is going for a WYSIWYG principle. I look at a strategic icon and I know exactly what it is and what it can do. Not worry about whether it's maybe upgraded or not or leveled up or not. Besides, the Commander is supposed to be a liability. It's supposed to be protected. If you lose it, you die after all. Modifying the looks is already in the game by selecting a different skin.

    The starting location issue? What issue is that?

    they were alright suggestions for a new forum member. T2 came down a bit lately didn't it? I like some those ideas anyway. Really, it will be better when a planet reacts better to a collision.

    just for dumb discussion, you could mod an anti halley unit. Make it a little cheaper and buildable from orbit, and make it add to the halley counter so your enemy needs to destroy the unit or build even more halleys. Make it somehow unable to launch despite adding to counter, is the trick. Increase the actual use cost to an unachievable number?

    call the unit the grapple, because it keeps the planet held in place.

    Would like to add my own:

    • UI buttons that work consistently and require only one click to actually use.
    • Layer selection bias toggles, I.E; to select only land and ignore selections in other layers, air/orbital and vice versa.
    • Strategic icons displayed on previously scouted enemy buildings in the fog of war.
    • To not get dumped back into the root menu when an action fails
    • Moar Units!
