I was fighting the Revenant faction leader. 2 of my subcoms spawned on the first planet (along with myself) and another spawned on the third. I quickly set up hallies (on the third) and sent it after the fourth, then the voice said "celestial orbit changed" and it slammed into the first planet, where I was? whhaaaat?
Wat. AI Op. Please nerf. On a more serious note, maybe the AI commander was able to change his planet's orbit. This function used to be available in early builds of Planetary Annihilation Beta.
When hallies were first introduced, one of the options was that you could change your planet's position in the solar system without smashing it in to something. I'm not sure what build this functiuonality was first put in and when it was removed, but I distinctly remember it being an option.
Hopefully we will get it back soon enough too. Might allow things like unit cannons, and prevent the sillyness of IP nukes.
You need to be very careful with planet trajectories in this game. I sent a planet smash towards my opponent once only to have it hit my own planet killing my commander. Fair to say I'll never make that mistake ever again. In fact it was going to happen to me again, but I noticed it this time, so I had to cancel the planet smash, wait for the planet to orbit a bit more and then resume the planet smash.
so skynet for real? i dont find current ip nukes silly at all ... when all moons have been used for smash how else would you continue launching nukes not every player is intested in having half a dozent smashmoons for his system .. shall i deny myself nukes because of that .. NO ... i want to keep my ipnukes
You gotta wonder, of all the possible trajectories the planet could take, my main planet got in the way and my base was facing the planet smash... I couldn't believe it when it happened, I thought the other guy was hacking : ) But luckily PA has Chronocam!
