It should be played like this:

    1. - 6v6
    2. - Class limits of 1 on everything
    3. - Best of 3, using a different map for each round (either randomly selected or chosen by teams, whatever)

    Refine my ideas - gogogo.

TF2 has no problems fielding 6 players for hours a day.

Errr... What? I'd say class limits are completely redundant for competition. If you really want, you could have a limit of 3 on every class to prevent retarded teams like 4 assaults + 2 support, but then again: what's actually wrong with that?

class limits means that you need a balanced team, players who could play each of the classes

I think we'd need to see some broken strategies before limiting classes to 1 of everything. That seems way too extreme to me. I'd say start with a limit of 2 or 3.

If you force teams into 1 of every class, every team is the same. No variability is pretty boring if you ask me.

Team Bacon has been scrimming Fox and Krz with 6v6 and a 2 per class limit (prevents counter-comping).

For the most part we used balanced teams.

Yup, the only class we've ever doubled up on is assault (no surprise there).

You should make it like baseball where you have to assign players to classes before you play.

Doesn't really matter what you play, when you're good you'll win; class limits are unnecessary.

    1. 6v6 sounds good. I'm not sure I understand the 5v5 argument...is it really that difficult to get a sixth person? Either way, it's not that big of a deal.
    2. Some people enjoy highlander, some don't. The debate's already started on this thread alone. TFC and TF2 had leagues for both highlander and non, so I'd imagine the same would happen in MNC. There really is no "better" playstyle between the two.
    3. Works for me. Just depends on what the league wants to do.

But what about a 6 support stack with firebase/turtling?

@Team Bacon - We ought to try stacking classes in our future scrims to see how they work.

But that just leads to comp-"counter-comp". That's no fun.

    I definitely prefer Rainbow/Class Limits.

You'll find that most teams won't do it even without limits. Let the troll teams play like that and the real teams play like they want to, hell if they consider 3 supports plus 3 assaults a good lineup then let them do it.

If any start at a limit of 3 if you must insist and carefully (that is over a LONG period of time) evaluate it

If most teams won't do it even without limits, might as well set limits. That way the games are more based on skill/strategy/communication instead of Class/Team setup.

No matter the class setup I still have to coordinate the same way, I still have to be skilled and I still need to communicate; your argument is invalid.

True. I guess I was trying to convey that class stacking (at least with certain classes) would give an unfair advantage in competitive play.
