I feel like the Slammer as it currently is doesn't work well as a unit. Firstly, as an amphibious unit: I love the idea of amphibious bots, i also like the idea of having amphibious units as a unique feature of at least one bot unit (to give them some distinctiveness from vehicles). But i do not think the slammer is a unit which should be capable of traveling through water, firstly, it's not very WYSIWYG, and secondly, it feels like a feature tacked on to a unit that already had its own role. Basically, i think bot's should have amphibious units, but that those units should A) be modeled to look amphibious and B) not overlap on the role the slammer should have. Secondly, the way that the slammers fire is too similar to Doxen and pretty much every other straight shooting unit in the game. Slammers are modeled and sound like a unit that is designed for fast, close up assaults. (they slam into things). I reackon they should have shotgun weapons, a scattershot, which sprays out from the point of firing. Each individual pellet would do minimal damage on its own, but the closer you get to a target, the more concentrated the scatter fire becomes, and the more deadly each individual slammer gets. This would allow it to smash through buildings and heavy units quickly when it gets close, allowing it to 'slam' through fortifications or unguarded bases, and also have a nice AoE effect at medium range. This would allow it to have a unique weapon type/style, and fulfil a unique role in the roster of bot units. Tl;Dr: 1) Take away its amphibiousness, and give that to a new bot unit. 2) Give it a scattershot weapon.
I may indeed need to try that out then, though I'll continue to suggest that this is what they should do with the slammer in game proper as well.
