    Wow, your art is amazing.

Good luck with your application, hope someone takes the time to read it.

Normally posts like this annoy me to all hell but I can understand how you would be extremely eager for an opportunity like that. If this work is truly your own then I hope they consider you at least for a future project if they dont have a need for you now.

I'm an angry old skeptic but yeah, your art is impressive.

The application process to become a master of art at Uber is pretty easy, you just need to take a sword and hit Steve with the pointy end, at which point the position becomes open :)

Your stuff looks great but you're acting immature in the context of job seeking TBH.

Yeah I was about to say the same. Your work is good but you need to learn to act cool. Also you'd be much better off contacting someone in Uber by email privately, not on a public forum. Sorry to say so but right now I'd say you look kind of unstable from an employer's perspective.

Having said that, I'd also like to work for Uber. They look like a great company and they're getting great things done. Any time you need a molecular biologist, I'd love to apply. ;)

I don't work for Uber, but if I was interested in contract work for art, I would:

    1) Research who's who online. I'm connected with Eka and Scathis on LinkedIn for example since they say networking is important!

    2) I would discover Eka is the art director.

    3) I would then contact him directly since Uber doesn't have an HR email.

Looking desperate is bad. Uber might not have opportunities anyway, but that's not relevant. Uber definitely has contracted work for art in the past. (https://twitter.com/chelsea_douglas, met her at PAX, really nice woman!)

Interesting resume. Good artwork for sure, and even fairly relevant in PA.

I see two complications though. Uber is kind of small, not sure they even have an opening, which might explain why they don't have a place on their page for taking applications no matter how qualified you may be. Nothing personal, it just is what it is there. You know what their budget is, that doesn't exactly hire a ton of people even for one year. So even if a job does exist, there is the question of money. There isn't a lot of it to go around. You may have to be willing to accept less money than you may be accustomed to for a job with these guys.

And the second issue is a more personal question. It is a question of art style vs the hardware realities present in a game like PA. Assuming a job was available, given the nature of PA and what they are trying to accomplish with it they are by necessity going to be working with a rather strict polygon count for the finished product. So here's the question for you.

How would you adapt your art to a low polygon environment? Would you be able to do that?

    About immaturity...

Absolutely no offence, but in general game devs tend to look upon everything a tad different. A way that may seem immature to people outside the industry. Personally I am totally fine with that. Im 21 now, but when I can, I would act like my 16 year old self would. Enjoying as much as I can, without worrying too much. When I am at school (Game architecture and Design) There is a mindset which is different than most schools. The work is hard, but we enjoy it, and being a bit quirky to outsiders. :p

To put this in context, I had my internship at a company in Belgium the last 5 months. I was happy there was this same mindset as at school. One day they received an email, in which someone applied for an internship. The email was filled with star-wars references and more obscure and even a couple obscene references. Still my colleagues (or bosses w/e) invited him for a meeting and I eventually worked together with him, the last 2 weeks of my internship, he turned out to be cool guy.

I was actually surprised they invited him, but it turned out for the better. I guess it really depends on where you are applying. I think especially the smaller studios are less likely to ignore these kind of appeals.
