She probably has a face similar to Jason Vorhees or perhaps Darth Vader, and the mask is more like a helmet. Still trying to figure out what the 3rd eye does. Maybe I should use my time in a more constructive manner.

maybe the left eye sees the past, the right eye sees the future, and the clones were going insane and having timing-inaccuracies because they couldnt see anything happening right now, so they added a third eye to the clone-DNA to see the present and put less work/stress on the assassin's mind.

Humans see the past every time they look up into the sky because we see the light that remains from things that (lightyears away) are already past (did you know if the sun went out, you wouldnt know it until 8 minutes and 13 seconds later? the sun you see would be the "past" sun, like seeing the sun in a time machine).

humans having 2 eyes instead of 1 gives added width of perception as well as depth, so it would make sense that if humans can trianglate a point of focus with two eyes, then an assassin could calculate correct depth and trajectory better because she could triangulate three times (left and right eye combined, left and top eye combined, right and top eye combined), and perhaps more (if she could use the combined point of focus of the left and right eye, and combine that with the middle eye), and more (combine all three's combined points of focus). using calculus with limits (goody goody), you can figure that she could see correctly through the distortion of water or any scenario where light is normally bent to those with binocular vision.

...or its just an added tool in the mask like thermal or nightvision or soliton-radar/heartbeat-sensor/directional-microphone.

the tool idea is the most reasonable tho. the other ones ARE possible. but i pulled half out my arse and half out of Cowboy Bebop and half out of science-fiction (which makes anything seem possible but nothing seem reasonable).

Well, the part of things being lightyears away is correct. Since Assassins love to stab Snipers, and Snipers are always lightyears away, one could argue that she needs it to look out for Snipers in real time, so that she can mercilessly stab them again and again.
