Here's what I came up with, a list of anything that came to my head, for better or for worse. These are the kinds of things I want the engine to allow modding for in some way. Different biome structure types: 1. Bee hive 2. Sponge 3. Jelly, units that die float up a little and stay embedded. 4. Phosphorus (lasers only, explosions catastrophic) 5. Golf ball 6. Morphus, amoeba like, squishy ball, stress ball, variable. 7. Mirrors, experiment with tricking the eyes 8. Flat world, one side vs the flip side 9. Audio world, play with sounds 10. Black and white world 11. Filters world, play with saturation, hue, effects, ect. 12. Earthquake world 13. Tsunami world, big waves have cool effects on boats. 14. Cliff world (limited building space, air only?) 15. Metropolis world. Npc fodder? 16. Inside of a ball world - Play with camera to have a neat perspective of the concave inner surface. 17. Mobius strip world (like the flat world). 18. Halo ring, for the fans of that. 19. Interlocking ring worlds, play around with it, chains, cool geometrical shapes, etc. 20. Pyramid world (either the world is shaped like a pyramid, abundance of pyramids, or both). 21. Air world, airplanes go super fast in the atmosphere, tanks are slow. Possible wind effects? 22. Big and small world. At times it scrunches and everything gets closer together, then spreads out and becomes sparse afterward. 23. Plant world, things are very animated and come alive. 24. Lightning world, random lightning. 25. Sunlight world, very bright, different light effects - sparkling, lens flare, stepping out into bright light, solar flares. 26. LOL world - textures of random memes, funny stuff. Basically just a collage canvas to play on, for the reddits. 27. Tiles, roof shingles, shell-like, corrugated, something with textures. 28. Teleport world, random wormholes, phase shifting units (stutter, jolt randomly with a cool effect) 29. Fractal world. 30. Hypercube world - ...how? 31. Alice in wonderland type world where units get bigger / smaller depending where they are. Fun to pit normally small things against normally big things. 32. Bubble world, either for fun, or actually having effects like units being carried away with bubbles, 'popping' bubbles do damage. 33. Acid world, (no, not the drugs, although that would be another neat idea), acidic bubbles, sludge pools, acid rain. 34. Moon gravity type world, your basic no-grav 'weeeeee' world. 35. Cloudy atmosphere, blocks vision, fog effects, rain, hide aircraft in the clouds. Cloud bases for sci-fi fun? 36. Waterfall world, lots of rivers, where ships get pulled along, and enter "one-way" only waterfalls with a low damage drop-off. Maybe include vortexes as well. 37. Tornado prone world, experiment with dispersing the flocks. 38. Fire world, flash fires, lava eruptions, burning metal, more incendiary explosions, walls of fire, fire-tornadoes, fire rain?, firestorms, lava rivers. 39. Plain old rts map, your basic square, with varying sizes, to have a "normal", non-galactic war. Maybe for unit testing purposes. 40. Mini-galaxy world. Galaxyception. The ball you build on looks like the normal galaxy you play with. Could be interesting, playing in space, in space. 41. Time paradox world, where things are randomly slower or faster, could lead to some really wtf battles, or funniness. 42. Regular balls, just textured for fun, with VERY simple terrain. Tennis ball, baseball, basketball, melon, apple, etc. 43. Apocalyptic world, play around with different armageddon scenarios (what killed the world? nukes? undead? famine? overpopulation? meteor? flood? used all the resources? alien invasion? consider plantlife overgrowth level) 44. Skater world, looks like a skate park, ramps, rails, jumps. 45. Monolithic world, huge awesome monuments, from a time lost to memory. 46. If enough appeal, branch out into game-like worlds. Minecraft looking, or mario brothers, or various other pixely goodness games. 47. Realistic world, with all the continents. As high-rez as possible. Or low-rez, whatever, I'm a brainstorm list, not a cop. 48. Figureheads? Like actually having battles on famous people's faces. 49. Worlds based off fantasy like lord of the rings, star wars, etc. Basically anything that has its world map already fleshed out. 50. Optical illusion worlds, made of textures that mess with the eyes. I can picture a megalomaniac making one of those planets his base. 51. A troll texture with random units/base buildings / possibly animated, possibly randomly changing. This one is to mess with you, confusing your own units for the terrain. I'll number them for easy reading and referencing.. ... ... ..and done. Feel free to add your own!
