You mean slower? Client fps should be quite high (>25 fps), sim should be 10 fps and server should be 1 fps. You can switch between those stats by pressing Ctrl+P in-game.
The servers have been overloaded recently, resulting in slow games, so it might be just that and not your drivers.

that'd be one hell of a coincidence, seeing as how it began once I updated.

    Maybe its @brianpurkiss building skitters

Well, the last update was the launch version, so... ;)
You mean the list loads very slowly? That's a known bug for which @mikeh made workarounds. There is the Faster Server Browser Mod and the Optimise User Tag Map Mod. Hopefully, that'll be fixed in the next update.

Like any other software drivers might get better or worse so this is possible, but:
    • It's still really important to stick to latest drivers because they have more bug fixed.
    • Performance drop might happen if some feature that didn't work with old drivers start working.
So it's worth to try at least compare screenshots.
    • It's also useful to check problem with some benchmarks that support OpenGL.
If there slow down in PA then there is likely slow down in other OpenGL-based software.
You can check it with Unigine Benchmarks for example: Heaven, Valley.
So if you understand what you doing you might stick to old drivers as long as they work better, but keep in mind nobody going to test game for them because there tons and tons of bugs.

One time I also followed the suggestion to update my video card drivers. I got blue screens after that until I reverted back.

I don't understand what you are suggesting to do to correct the problem

If you totally sure that it's exactly driver update make performance worse than you can't do anything about that except report it to AMD. Unfortunately my experience with their support tells me you won't even get an answer, ever.

PS: So if previous version of driver works better for you switch back and wait till AMD release new driver.

Here's a thought, you've got the latest stable driver. Why not give the new beta driver a try? P.s. sorry for bad advice on update :( if the beta driver doesn't work it is possible to try older ones as amd does provide previous versions and a tool to completely remove their drivers. It will be really useful to find out which driver version works best as other people will likely have similar hardware (i have 2 apu based desktops at work for example although haven't tried pa on either of them yet)...
