Didnt see this anywhere else, and you cant fix what you dont know about right?

so i just want to bring it to your attention that the skill selection screen has a few lag-drag issues similar to the assassin's skills before the update. hoping its an easy fix for a small problem, but if its not its no problem as i can just take my time to make sure of the skill selection in the future.

basically, when you enter the skill selection and quickly move the cursor to highlight a skill and select it quickly (like you need a level three bomb/charge while near enemies), the cursor will drag itself back to the previously highlighted skill (this may be lag-aided like the assassin dash-glitch), and you can guess what happens after it drags the cursor back to the skill you didnt want...

it buys that skill for you, against your greatest wishes. i didnt want lvl 2 fly for an assault in a game, but i got lvl 3 fly for him since this glitch in skill selection happened twice. thats 550 i didnt wana spend, enough for juice or more importantly the bombs and charge i wanted. not having charge and bomb early in game kills me.

(jokingly) of course pre-patch, i coulda used the unwanted fly to get on top of the map, but thats no longer the case (that, and i vaguely knew of any useable glitch-flys anyhow, and never used them anyhow)

(but seriously) there isnt much use for level 3 fly on ammo mule. i can walk. most anywhere. bombs and dash are much more useful.

so is this an addressable issue, the lag-drag of the skill-selection cursor? can anyone else confirm this issue where you go to buy one skill and it drags your cursor back to a skill you didnt want? can this be added to a list of things needing fixed?

I do know a work-around. if you enter skill-selection and quickly press left to choose bombs instead of fly, but you notice BEFORE you press "a" that it went back to fly, then you wont be able to press left. it just simply wont recognize the left button. but if you choose right, it will move the cursor to dash, and then you can choose left for bomb afterwards. or you can back out of the skill selection and return to it and choose skills more slowly.

so the workaround AND WARNING is to make sure the cursor is going to stay on the skill you want to choose BEFORE pressing "a" to choose it.

I actually lold when I read this thread's title, cuz I knew EXACTLY what you were going to talk about without even reading the post.

Everyone I play with gets this bug/glitch/lag-issue constantly. Most of the time it "glitches" (using the term loosely, as I don't know what really triggers it) to the yellow skill, which, coincidentally, happens to be the Assault's fly skill (as you mentioned), Gunner deploy, and Tank deploy.

Therefore, we dubbed the glitch to be called the "no one wants the yellow skill" glitch.

But yeah, this gets fairly annoying. Especially when I play out of my Support class and buy something stupid like Tank/Gunner deploy. >.>

i didnt design this game, i cannot design a game even if a high-powered computer with the unreal engine and other 3d rendering and animation rendering software will'ed itself onto my bedroom standtable.

however, i do know a little bit about game making and testing. thank god i wasnt put in charge of this game, else id still be wondering what else to do with my xbox now that mw2 is retarded. this game wouldnt be good at all.

but from my understanding, wouldnt it be similar to the assassin's dash skill getting stuck as on, even though the button was pressed to make it off (just pressed really fast)? the game is just not being able to keep up with what buttons were pressed when they are pressed quickly (how the game actually keeps track of that idrk)

i also dont know how they fixed it for the assassin, but if they could apply a similar approach to make button detection better for the skill-selection screen, it might fix the "nobody wants the yellow skill glitch". if its more complicated than that, roll up your newspaper and hit me in the face for thinking otherwise, uberent game-designers, because i havent ever designed anything more than an add-on FOR a game, and that game was back in 2002, so i could be oversimplifying by a long shot.

if i was a game designer and someone made my work seem oversimplified, id hit them with a newspaper

(it was a bad-*** looking add-on i created tho, i created the model and animation for an assault rifle with heavy attachments and custom bodymould, and a pistol which was a desert eagle with huge-looking recoil-kick. this was before cod4 glammerized the desert eagle, so i wonder if my model made cod-designers love the big-boy pistol?)

Yeah this has happened a lot to me too. Sometimes at the beginning of the game when I chose two skills it took the money but didn't give me the skills required to kick ***! :S
