    Hey!

For all you veterans out there, how do you not suck? :p

Every game I get owned. I instantly start trying to build a bigass army and just get rekt from all sides of the earth. I never know what I'm doing and just got the game but my friends who also just got it are just beating me always, since we all play the waiting game and they always have 100 times my army size when I dont understand why?

I don't know orbital stuff or anything really and all the youtube vids that I've tried searching for seem to be outdated. Watching pro streamers also isn't going good as I don't understand what they are doing all I can see is them winning. :p

I have a Steam username if you want to add me and help out, I'd appreciate it: steamcommunity/id/superfrankeh/, cant post full link due to whitelist sorry
    Please help amigos

    Expand

blow up enemy metal with dox n' stuff
Personally, I never do long chains of tons of games, I take breaks
Use all of your eco. Is both of your econ bars are blue, that' pretty bad.

If you drop into our clan TeamSpeak (see link in my sig) on any evening european time and tell them you're a total noob you'll probably find someone willing to coach you for an hour or so. That could make a big difference.

If no one's around/willing just keep coming back, I'll happily mentor you for a bit, although I'm away until Thursday.

    1. Get to know the UI, such as all the uses of area commands and camera controls (specifically camera anchors) The new player guide on the main menu helps with this
    2. expand expand expand. If you control the map, you control the game.
    3. don't play with gas giants until you feel comfortable with the game, jigs break economy in a big way
    4. harass the livin heck out of your opponents. Bombers and dox are good for this.
    5. if you have multiple planets in the system, getting to them as fast as you can could give you a huge boost. Probably best to start on single planet systems though.
    6. being slightly red on metal is ok, being red on power is not. being blue on metal is not.
    7. radar is your friend
    8. don't turtle, you will die
    9. Not really a gameplay tip but check out mods for the game (you can find a link to PA Mod Manager (PAMM) in my sig). A lot of these mods add handy little options that can help you keep track of things or just make the game look better (subjectively of course), or even completely change the balance.

It took 100s of games to get that good

your not going to get amazing over-night, but you certainly have better tools now....matchmaking. which does an ok job at pitting you against players of your skill level and its easy to see when you are getting better

study exponential curves alot until you get a grasp of how they behave and what infinity could be like.

a frequent problem is users not realising just how nuts they can go, and how growth is neverending.

Sorry this is a little late, but if you're still looking for some tips, adding to what the others have said:

I find a lot people build too many fabbers at the start, although build power is good, you need to be able to have the eco to support it.
Another thing i find is people will build 1 or 2 factories and then use their comm to build 15 power gens... the more time you spend building excessive amounts of eco, the more you'll fall behind with the amount of factories you have compared to the other person.
Lastly, I am a victim of this sometimes as well, but you need to be aggressive, I've found people with a whole bunch of unit sitting in their base when they could be wrecking havoc in mine =P Rallying is good friend, make each factory send the units is builds to a certain point on the map, generally just outside your base or closer to your opponents base, esp with tanks, this saves time because they are so slow! >.<
Although my build order generally changes depending on the map, 1 bot-2fabbers, 1 air, 3 pgens, 1 mex, 1 bot, 3 tanks, 3 pgens, 4 tanks.... is my general build, or rather that's the ratio of pgens to fabbers to factories i have, it works pretty well so you can try it out? ^.^
Oh lastly... MICRO!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's a guy in my clan and omg, it can be a team of 4 and he'll be winning on his side while micro-ing and warning the rest of the team, it's amazing!!! But it takes a bit of practice.

I have 490 hours on PA and my alt account is only ranked Plat 55. So don't be disheartened if you don't get good quickly, if you ever want to play a game or have me spectate a few games to comment I'd love to. ^.^ You can add me on steam- Violet Ania

Sorry for the rant, i hope it was somewhat helpful and GL HF!!!! <3
(P.s. Totally forgot, if you don't have it already you should totally get PAMM, infinite build is a total life saver and cplosions is awesome-ness =3)

edit: i just realised you were asking about orbital and large armies and i completely went on a tangent... *facepalm* last comment i promise! Don't rush t2, esp when you don't have the eco, OMG it screw you over so hard, i generally only build t2 when i've build a pstorage and mex storage and i'm still making more eco than i'm using. >.< and i just realised you have you steam account on here as well so don't mind if i say hi? Sorry i'm so hypo right now! >.<

edit2: i mentioned my alt account because i don't play ranked on my actual account because i'm too scared of doing badly and having my clan laugh at me hence why mentioning the alt account because someone asked me about it so i wanted to clear that up =P hehe sorry
