Wow, I've been missing out on something amazing. I love Sci Fi, like Mass Effect but I've never had interest in the ST series 'till now.

So much narrative and character development it makes me want more.

I bought the first season box.

Should last me for quite a while.

i remember coming home from school and this would always be on my favorite channel so i would change it to channel 5 which would be showing COPS at the time. This caused me to watch just about every episode ever shown.

You talking original ST? NextGen? DS9? Voyager?
If you like character development, check Voyager.

Got all three seasons on DVD but I still haven't got around to watching all of season 3 yet.
Are you watching the 'original originals' or the the 'remastered originals'?
I'd love to get them all on Blu-ray - they have both versions but damn they're expensive.

You guys do know that Netflix has pretty much all of the series on instant play right? hundreds of episodes... I can't even begin to watch all of them.

Any jerkoff can watch it online.

I'd rather prefer to own a solid disc and actually have something of worth.

Until the format is obsolete? I bet those VHS tapes of Star Trek are also "something of worth" right? I think the most cost effective route would be watching it online rather than buy hundreds of dollars worth of box sets on formats that probably won't be worth much of anything in 10 years. Besides, what matters is enjoying it.

    Couldn't agree more... Maybe.

I do buy Anime BDs when I want its 2nd season to come out but I've got to agree with endyo, they're really useless when they're available online.

I really like watching them on HD though... Big difference.

Depending on production method, materials, storage method, and treatment of the disc, DVDs can easily last 15+ years
