I preordered Destiny for m'Xbone, now I'm confuzzled as to what to do by now. I played it's Beta, and I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I had a receipt from gamestop to install the beta back then, but by now it's long gone. Was I supposed to keep it? Asking in case anyone else preordered. ^^;
@squishypon3 Though I made this order online. When I preordered Prototype 2 I got a receipt with a number on it. Fun fact: Destiny's budget was $500 million. The most expensive movie ever produced was Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End at a mere $347 million .
And all they managed to do was mashing a couple of games together. The sad part is that the game will probably be the top seller for this year.
I actually have my doubts it'll top GTA V in sales. Especially since GTA V is getting a PC version soon.
I don't get what all the fuss is about. Aside from the extraordinarily large budget (which I'm certain must include about 50% marketing?), I can't really see what the game's USP is.
It's an FPS MMOish thing. That's kinda new. I guess. But I agree, that's why I don't think it'll outsell GTA V.
My most-played game on Steam is (sadly) Planetside 2 - FPS MMOs can be addictive if the studio making them knows what they're doing. SOE managed to cripple the game within months of launch unfortunately, so that's my taste for the genre out of the window.
I haven't seen any MMO elements in it, just RPG. From what I've seen it looks like it pretty much hard copies a lot of stuff from Borderlands and Halo.
I dunno, made by Bungie, looked good in the trailers. Graphics are pretty, and I need a new semi-open world game. It's MMO, because I believe you can invite a lot of players when playing. Anyway, it's sort of like Borderlands in the way of open world, it's sort of semi-open... At least the beta was, you were teleported/flew your ship to different zones and such. It's really not much like Halo though, armour is pretty similar, but of course, it's the same design team.
Your most played game is only 244 hours? As for Destiny, I just don't care. I really liked Halo, but Destiny is coming at a point where I'm really over that kind of FPS.
