Re: Need to learn a different class Assault is the easiest but most abundant. Tank has a really high learning curve. Gunners can go insanely positive against unskilled players but against organized players it is definitely a difficult class to go positive with. Assassins are tough to learn, easy to counter but expert assassins are definitely a huge threat.
Personally, I find Gunner to be the easiest class to learn. All you need is dual miniguns and the rest is gravy. Just keep spinning pre-combat, then shoot whatever moves. Use mortars on non-pro things (except Gremlins and maybe Scramblers). That's it. Then again, I can't figure out how to use Assault to save my life.
Personally I found tank way easier to get a decent score with when I started playing, compared to the so-called easy classes assault and gunner. It's worth reading some of the guides and trying him out with some combination of armour/RoF/Skill. EDIT: switch to the tactical control scheme though, so you can aim the product grenade more easily.
Assassin. If you can't figure out right away how to play this class then it only takes a couple pointers to straighten you out. She's not a very deep class, but you have to be good at what she does. some tips; 1) cloak then dash+front grapple. on snipers/supports and un-armored assaults, this will gauruntee you a kill if you land it. some people need to practice at it first to sort it out. 2) shurikens bounce. attack firebases and turrets from angles. very useful on maps like lazerrazor. when your clip is almost empty, cloak, reload, then pop out again. cloaking + shurikens from long range or bouncing makes it hard for people to spot you and frstrates the other players...because they will be looking for you. 3) juice. she juices like she has her own portable juice machine. constantly clear bot lanes and stay away from pros for the most part till you have juice 4) smoke bomb jump & cloak. when in doubt, run away. this includes when you fail on a back grapple and get a front grapple instead 5) dont blatantly run up on supports that know what they are doing. most noob assassins think supports are easy pickin's but in reality the support is the direct anti-class to the assassin. the shotgun will demolish you, and if you fail on a front grapple you'll most likely end up dead short of some lucky sword spam or tip #4. 6) hide. you dont want to lose your juice. kill a few pros, clear bot lanes, shuriken some turrets, etc. if you find you're near juice but afraid you might die, go cowar in corner and shuriken @ some turrets or destroy uncovered bots to finish your juice bar, then go destroy all the enemey turrets, etc.. 7) don't go after tanks for no reason. go at them when they're preoccupied against another one of your teammates, or when they already have some hit damage. 8) cloaking is still obvious because people are always on the look out for you. when you get close its visible/audible, if you constantly sprint then you leave dust foot prints. just because you can cloak doesn't automatically make you 'sneaky'. Being slick is a skill in its own right, using high ground to see whats going on or to come up around someone is smart. 9) smoke bomb+sword (non-juice) on a FB/turret seems like an awesome idea and it works when its not covered, but if it is, you'll be dead. shurikens take them out almost just as quickly. if you have Katana already, go for the smoke bomb.. but the other two swords make this situation a liability. 10) just as with any class, if a covered or center area is being held by several people.. juice at them. with your katana and sword spam (+ROF), it can be hard to grapple you and FB's and Pros that are clustered together can = kill streak. 11) Move. You've got speed and distance. Spread the map so you aren't predictable. Those simple points + the ones that are obvious, such as turret destroying, etc. and skills that are already commonly pointed out, should be enough to keep your k/d high and positive. There are some more advanced tricks obviously, but if you do all the above they'll come to you naturally. Assaults & Tanks have the highest learning curve. Assault's skills and flight/aim control take forever to master outside of ring-out bombing, charge 3, and gun/grenade spamming (& just because you're picking up kills doesnt mean you're doing well). Tank has no mid-range game until you've practiced it, alot, which makes him an easy target for gunners and assaults.
This initially made me think it was a troll post. Seriously, this is a bad idea. For one thing, reactive Snipers will use their grapple on you before you can get yours. Trust me, it's been done to me enough that I no longer try it. Second, it's often good to assume your opponent has gold armor unless proven otherwise. The rest of your post was pretty solid, though. I especially stress the point that if you don't immediately succeed, retreat. Counter-intuitive, but effective.
Best way to start playing a tank (IMO) is to begin by playing defensively, once you have a feel for the class then you can start being more offensive and use the powerhouse to his full potential! Other than that my advise would be use product grenades ALL THE TIME and don't forget about the rail gun! Seriously, with gold or silver ROF the rail gun is beast. Oh deployed gunners....will you never learn?
Very true. It is still a very valuable skill to master though. Suppose I should've added some further notes about it. re: I did go ahead and remove the word 'easy' from the post, because that did sound kinda trollsy even though I meant it in the context of the OP.
