As the title states... I am looking for referrals to some sweet old games that you used to play. Or, even if you haven't played it and you just heard it was cool, works also. I am putting together a collection of games and consoles for a less fortunate cousin of mine who does not have the privilege of internet access. I just gave him my old PC (Tower, keyboard, mouse, headphones, monitor) for free because I figured he MUST be bored. So, I had an idea to download a bunch of Roms for him so he can have plenty of games to play without internet access. Leave one game or multiple games, I am downloading these at work so there is no limit as to how many games I could download!
Any old style Contra game is pretty fun. Great challenge. Would also recommend the first 4 Castlevanias.
Oh hell yeah! JFG was a freakin' classic from its release ( ) another good call. And as for Penguin - SNES Kirby will be awesome! Thanks for the help everyone, keep em coming as you remember them.
A man I can respect. Super Smash Bros(N64) Mario Kart 64(N64) I'm just putting them here for emphasis. They work great on emulators. Harvest Moon:Friends of Mineral Town(GBA) Advanced Wars(GBA) Fire Emblem(GBA) Tales of Phantasia(SNES) Secret of Mana(SNES) I'll probably think of more later.
Oh nice, thank you very much for the multiple entries! I definitely am going to get Secret of Mana and ToP, I think my cousin will really like those and so would I. Knickles - Got those, such great games they are.
Do you need help setting up emulators? What kind of games does he like the most? Do you want me to list more obscure titles or must-play well-ish-known classics? Can list several when I get home (And +1 for advance wars 2 and basically any Zelda game)
Re: I need recommendations for ROM's (SNES, Gameboy, N64, et Paper Mario (N64) Someone mentioned Fire Emblem, but be sure to pick up the other one called Fire Emblem Sacred Stones as well. (GBA) Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. (GBA) Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon (GBA) As some could probably see, I was a fan of turn based map strategy.
Re: I need recommendations for ROM's (SNES, Gameboy, N64, et Oh crap, looks like my post got eaten up. Rampage(NES) Kirby's Adventure(NES) Goldeneye 007(N64) Chrono Trigger(SNES) Earthworm Jim(pick your platform) Again, I'll likely post more at some point. Oh and are you interested in super old PC games as well, or strictly ROMs?
Re: I need recommendations for ROM's (SNES, Gameboy, N64, et <3 I spend way too much time on that game as a kid, probably my most favorite game with happy memories attached to it.
