But it doesn't quite sufficiently answer the question I'm about to ask. Me and a friend of mine have recently been looking for a new game to play - and saw MNC. The style of game this is (DotA/FPS hybrid-sorta thing) looked very interesting to us, but as I've heard on other boards (And this one for that matter...), MNC is dead. We've pretty much given up on buying it because of this, but I just wanted to confirm completely:

Just how big is this game's community at the moment? Is there any honest hope for revival, or is it only downhill from this point?

There are maybe 100 people playing so: Downhill.

There are about 20 people playing each time I get on. dont buy it.

By "FPS" I was referring to certain elements of FPS games, not the fact that it's first person. No need to be condescending, I know it's third person.

It is really a very good game however the playerbase kills it. If you were to get this game now you wouldn't be able to improve because the few people playing would be such a ridiculous high level it would be hard to improve.

The game died out because of the lack of ontent and updates. however uberent is hard at work on delivering new content for us. and maybe some other surprises. their about to make an announcement on friday if i'm correct.

i would wait until the announcement and/or update before making a decision.

Hardly. Most good people quit and those who are still playing do it casually and maybe play a few games a week. There are very few good players in this game right now (maybe like 10).

regardless of the fine details of where the camera happens to be, it does play like an FPS.

There's been an update damn near once a month, how the hell is that a "lack of ... updates"?

I picked it up and brought 2 peope with me recently. We're not pro or anything, but there are usually about 100 people on at any time, which is enough for a game.

The player base is small, and will increase for a temporary amount of time soon (possibly a month at maximum, my estimate), but it is large enough to play on a 150 ping or lower server sans early in the morning.

this is true because all that happens is people complain and then leave the server thinking you hack, its pathetic

If that's true, I'd love to hear you speculate on how many 360 users there are that play regularly.

There were still quite a few new people at <100 last time I played.

But they usually just start making hackusations as soon as they lose a few games. Boring.

Last week thare were between 80 and 100 people.

Its this combination of porr education about the game and a negative feedback loop from Uber's smallness and the population size itself.
