I have a few questions about the game and what not.

    Ok, so I don't get much time to scour the forums to see if any of these have been posted already so forgive me if I have re-asked stuff already talked about. I would much rather a link to the forum being discussed if there is one rather than being trolled for re-asking.

    Okayyy anyway,

    Firstly a question about the Alpha.
    Obviously a date hasn't been released yet, but I'm curious if there will be a period of time when the alpha is released, say a day before the servers go up where we can actually download the client so we don't have to sit there waiting to play the game when the servers go up.

    Second question is about Radar Information.
    I know there is not going to be any minimaps in this game, which I find pretty awesome and I look forward to it.. But I'm curious about how radar information will be displayed to the player. I know there is going to be mulitple viewpoint capabilities, but you can't really expect someone to have one for each and every radar/scout unit they have. Without the classic red dot on the minimap how will we know if something is coming?

    Third question is about planet defacing/destruction.
    I missed the live stream about the planet generation and what not, but when I watched the youtube video there were screenshots of planets that are basically 1/8th of what it was, where its basically useless because of all the craters. I'm curious if thats how the game is going to be, or will planets actually blow up after a while. (Again this may be a stupid question but I just wanna make sure its the latter >.> :p)

    Fourth and final question is about unit caps mainly.
    I know there has been nothing really said about unit caps and I'm just curious if there will be any plans to impliment it in any way at all, like have it scale with how many players there are or something like that. This last question is more curiosity, and I'm pretty fine with someone just telling me nothing so far.. haha..

    Anyways, if you read all that.. good job >.> and if anyone has any decent contribution to an answer for me it would be greatly appreciated ^.^

    Have you ever played Supreme Commander? I'd expect it to look pretty similar in this regard. You'll have radar-dots on the map instead of the minimap.

    Those were concepts of how a planet might look after being it by a huge asteroid.

    They just said that the current version if the game (prealpha) has no unitcap whatsoever. The final version is probably gonna have some kind of unitcap, depending on what works best. What we can be sure of that in the end you'll be able to modify the unitcap if you dislike it and your machine can handle it. It is just a number after all. It can be changed.

    Unknown, but acceptance into the Alpha is going to be staggered slightly as part streamlining the process and stress testing the servers, see more discussion here; viewtopic.php?f=61&t=45498

    I assume it will be similar in function as it was in TA and SupCom/FA, as in featureless blips for units, and not knowing EXACTLY what unit they are until you have vision on it.

    It's variable, different levels of destruction is the plan, what defines these levels and what levels there will be will have to wait and see what works best for gameplay.

    There will be A cap of some point, it will take testing to figure out what number it should be exactly and as Neutrino said in the May3rd Stream, there are a LOT of variables to take into account and the game is designed to be scalable, so the long term answer is that it could be what ever your system can handle.
