Last night I noticed I have 800 microsoft points I never ordered. I believe it was a rebate from getting $30 worth of crap in October.

Long story short, what should I get? I'm leaning towards Legends and Killers for Red Dead, just to have all the expansions.

Here is a list of what I have gotten recently so we don't double up:

    RISK Factions
    Undead Nightmare Pack
    Liars and Cheats Pack
    Hunting and Trading Pack
    Magic: The Gathering
    Monday Night Combat
    Braid
    MEGA MAN 9

but a thought occurs to me, if I got point via a rebate, does the game studio still get paid when I order a game? Like say I ordered MNC with the rebate (which I won't, because I already bought the game), would uber still get $10 from Microsoft. I wonder how all that works.

fine, whatever. I have that game, how ever it is spelled. Thanks for pointing out my dyslexia. Any other suggestions?

Are there any deals where I could get some games for 400 points? I remember seeing Shank for 400, is that any good?

Shank looked great for mindless killing -- which is what we all need sometime.

Want some advice? Some of the funnest ... funner ... funn .... BEST time I had with DLC was taking a 3 or 4 hour block, queueing up like 15-20 XBLA demos and playing through them.

Found gems such as Peggle, Kingdom for Keflings, and others.

Protip: always try the demos/trials of games as soon as you get the chance if the premise or genre appeals to you at all.

Shank is your standard 2D sidescrolling beat 'em up with a little bit more gore and a slightly different art style. Worth $15? I didn't think so.

    Hmm...ideas...

Left 4 Dead 2: Both of it's DLCs are pretty good, the Passing being a little bit better than the Sacrifice due to the Mutations.

Beat Hazard: Indie game that plays like most twin stick shooters...But it plays the music on your hard drive and your music HEAVILY influences how the game goes. Try playing it to speed metal or dance music!

I Maed a Gaem with Zombis 1n 11!!!111: It's a dollar and worth it for the theme song alone.

Portal Still Alive: If getting the Orange Box for just about the same price in retail doesn't work for you, this is a must. First-person puzzle game that is completely unique, unless you're one of those few that played Narbacular Drop first.

After Burner Climax: Pretty sweet for what's still a single player game. If you don't know what the After Burner series is about, download the trial and don't let up on the right trigger :D

Battlefield 1943: Eh, if you like FPS and vehicles you may like this older title with the HD treatment.

Bomberman Live: Another great franchise. It's pretty simple, chaotic fun since unlike earlier Bomberman games the focus is completely on multiplayer and there's no learning curve. It's pure chaos

Castle Crashers: If you don't have it and are sociable enough to play it with other people, this game is crazy awesome in co-op. It's only straight PvP modes are stupid button-mashing fests, but at the end of certain major levels there's a great big fight to the death between all the players for a kiss from the princess(es)

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Commander's Challenge: Stand-alone game. If you're into RTSes it's worth looking into, otherwise not.

Crystal Defenders: If you PAY for this sad excuse for a phone game, congratulations on being mentally retarded.

Duke Nukem 3D: One of the rare GOOD FPSes. Totally not kid-friendly, don't confused it with the sequel that's supposed to have been released literally every year since 1997...

Duke Nuke Manhattan Project: ...Or this steaming pile. This side scroller would've been awful even had it been released when it was supposed to be originally.

Hydro Thunder Hurricane: Another HD update that's good. Get the trial at the very least.

Marvel vs Capcom 2: Possibly the best 2D on the 360. It's crazy. Unless you're into games that aren't insanely over the top(screen-filling super moves are the norm here) or not into fighters, you'll probably like it.

Monday Night Combat: I've heard good things about this mashup of genres. It may be worth giving it a shot.

Rez HD: Doesn't matter if you like shooters, rhythm/music games, or what. Go download the trial. Now. Don't forget to turn up the music volume for it and FFS, don't play a custom soundtrack! This is one of the rare games that is ruined by outside music.

Serious Sam: These are crazy games focused entirely on fight a crapload of enemies that have a nasty habit of swarming you in gigantic numbers and spawning right. On. Your. *** when they don't.

Sonic & Knuckles: Arguably one of the best of the 2D Sonic games, before Sega decided to try and kill the franchise repeatedly. Though I guess technically the addition of Tails or Knuckles could be considered just that...

    Sonic 4: No.

Trials HD: Give it a shot. It's probably like nothing you've ever played before.

Watchmen: No, no, and no. The only thing remotely good about these beat 'em ups are the brutality of the attacks and the effect on Rorschach's mask being so hypnotic. Couldn't pay me to bother with these games.

    Just some ideas...

Whenever I have points in my account, I usually find myself holding out to see what the Deal of the Week is gonna be.... I just bought a new points card a couple weeks ago, and all I've spent is 200 points on a Pinball FX2 table, and I just bought Scott Pilgrim last week. I dunno if I want Shank though, which is this weeks deal.... I'll have to try the demo and see....

So that's my suggestion, hold out for the DOTW and maybe you can score yourself TWO games! ;)

I didn't want to quote Wolf's long list and take up too much room but out of the ones he mentioned I really agree with Castle Crashers being one of the most fun arcade titles around. No offense to you kind people at uber but in all fairness Castle Crashers has been around a bit longer so has Behemoth studios(who are releasing a new game soon).
If you like the art and play style of Castle Crashers try Alien Hominid. Its a twitch shooter for sure(like Metal Slug) but still a fun and humorous game.

Duke Nukem was one of my favorite franchises of all time until they got shut down after not being able to release DNF(though its in production again by Gearbox) and 3D was one of the best(although it seems very 2D to me)

Serious Sam is alot like Duke except with a wide variety of weapons and some really cool looking monsters(its also one of the hardest shooters I've played in awhile) its loaded with secrets for those people who love to explore and the first installment is only 800 points so it might be worth a try.

    just my two cents

Bloody Good Time has a few good ideas, but the way they pull them off is pretty bad IMO. It's pretty slow for something that's clearly an FPS...The only good thing about it is it's price, but personally I'd rather play DN3D or just a completely different game instead.

    I'll chime in...

Axel & Pixel is a point and click puzzle platformer. It has a great art design and fun gameplay.

Lucidity is a 2d side scrolling puzzle platformer that is quite addicting. Another game with a great art style.

Rocket Riot is an insane 2d "lego-block" shooter of carnage. Imo this is one if the most overlooked XBLA titles. It is extremely fun!
    Short trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f_Q-yQX1xI
    Gameplay - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RghzZOlDmVo

There are my top three 800 point XBLA games. I like to go for games that most won't even try. I am a sucker for XBLA games, I can't even keep count of how many I bought.

I don't know if it's 800 MSP, but Snoopy Flying Ace is awesome fun. Try the trial for that.

Good suggestion! I'd forgotten about the game, but the premise and gameplay are solid at the very minimum(translation: it's fun). Makes me think of those other simple but crazy fun games like Bomberman, Death Tank, and Worms.

I have 900 points myself, and I'm unsure whether to save them for the paid-for DLC to MNC or to spend it on DLC for Mass Effect 2 or Crackdown (1).

As you can probably tell by the fact that I own and play Crackdown 1, I don't have enough money to get more MS points.

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is very fun. That being said, Super Meat Boy is the second best arcade game of the year.
