I've had plenty of Jewish friends who would "look the other way" when it came to eating bacon. The strangest was a vegetarian Jew who loved a certain bacon flavoured chip because it A) tasted like bacon, B) would annoy his parents that he was eating bacon snacks and C) didn't actually contain any meat or meat products so he was still vegetarian.
I didn't have the heart to tell him that part C kinda reverses parts A and B

Reminds me of this guy I knew who claimed he was a vegetarian... except for fish and chicken.

well there are different types of vegetarians and fish and chicken are considered "white meat" i guess?

Some vegetarians just don't eat mammals.
