Using only my firebase on Steel Peel. A couple of airstrikes and shotties when they got to close to me camping... I mean overhealing my base.

Doesn't hurt Bolt and Rueben had my back either.

    I'm not a sandwhich.

Yeah, it was fun being able to bomb people into your firebase's line of sight from across the level.

    LOL nicely done!

I've had some success in Ammo Mule with this, but that was 26 kills 21 assists and a number of deaths. However any normal match this wouldn't have worked, but this was a special match full of special people :S

Good job, and shame on the other team. Few things are as frustrating as being on a team who do nothing but call the FB OP, but make no adjustments or even attempt to take it out. I pride myself on ruining a supports day by making it a point to eat his turret up every time he puts it down.

The enemy team did play a part in this lol. They had no sniper and their support tried to bomb it ...once. I think they had 2 gunners 2 tanks 1 support and 1 assassin. The only time it died was because the jackbot killed it.

Granted Billy and Bolt were controlling the map exceedingly well and whenever they got close I had juice from overhealing everything that passed by. Between the three of us we had around 80 kills. I just didn't work for mine haha. I think I had a full skill tree in the first 3 minutes. They stopped blatantly walking into it after that.

    Stop saying good job!!!
I've gotten ubers with an assault and multiple with assassin and two 24-0 assault games, one ended and one I got backstabbed after a charge grapple. This was ridiculous, it felt like cheating lol

Lol, I bet it did. I've only gotten it twice, both with assault. Gotta love disorganized randoms.

I got one, but i don't even know when or why i got it. I guess that's because i do not care for k/d much until the end-screen comes up and i notice my k/d sucked (or rocked).

Yesterday I was getting quiet a decent streak with my firebase as a support, and I suck as support.

Then the next game my buddies were play on the opposite team and owned the center (of LazorRazor) because they had 2 firebases sitting there. I suppose I should have been a support and tried to throw a few nukes there way to break it, but it didn't occur to me till now. Anyhow were firebases always this powerful or have the been buffed?

They've always been this powerful vs unaware or disorganized teams. I mean even the best player will walk around the corner and into a FB once in awhile. But when a team is getting destroyed by one of two for a long period of time, it's their fault the support is taunting every 10 secs. Imo of course.

Again, I'm not saying a good player/organized team can't break that, but they had a great forward defense.

So what are you asking then? Have FB been this OP? No, FB has never been OP, terrible team play will make you think it is. If not that, then wtf are you asking?

Calm down there buddy. I'm not asking anything. I'm just stating some of my experiences. When I'm a support or my team has some good supports I love them. When I'm playing against good supports, I hate them. It seems to border on over powered, but if I catch a firebase right when it is thrown, I and typically kill it. But it comes down to player skill.

I personally think they're OP. This thread kinda proves that. I literally did next to nothing the entire game. I can't think of another single skill, even two combined (cause you gotta hack it), that has the killing power of a firebase.

I always try to kill them when I see them too, but sometimes it's near impossible.
They really become a problem when there's one outside your base and half the other team is protecting it.

I still stand by my idea of firebases not being able to go on enemy territory. The maps are clearly marked and there's still PLENTY of good fb spots around. A lot of people probably don't like that but most are supports that can't get a kill without basing/overhealing the enemy's front door.

True, I never play support, I was just screwing around and found a great spots for a firebase and one of my buddies as a gunner backed me up, and we were next to unstoppable as I over healed him and firebase.

That's not a question? Umm ok. And I don't need to calm down, as I'm not hyped up, but I am confused, probably the result of you not making much sense. :?

@ Manouso, they really aren't OP when your team can call out, and coordinate their demise. Not to mention when they are first thrown down they are as fragile as a potato chip. Had I and my friends been on the other team, this thread wouldn't exist. Just saying, even though you got that great streak, it wasn't because the FB is OP, it's because the other team sucked that bad.

No doubt, the other team had a part to play as I previously posted.
Even with good people, firebases are OP imo. Ever had a team of 99's camp a firebase? I have. Ice traps, assault bombs, gunner's firepower; all to protect what they recognized as a formidable killing machine. Not to mention the fb is so close to my base the guardians of the endless machinegun (got em' for short) are wiping out my turrets/bots from a mini hub of protection. Being on the receiving end of this is frustrating as hell.

Yes bases can be taken out by a good team, but in the mean time they rack up the free skill-less kills, kill bots, help maintain map control, all while being two skills. (and one is reusable in either base)

Now say I'm playing solo like I do a lot, I can try to communicate and hope my team has a support and hope he has a mic. If not my best option is to change to support and hope I can peg his fb with my dinky level one airstrike while under fire from half the team. If it's undercover this is pointless. Another option would be to avoid it, but like I said half the time it's at my front door. My base was mid map btw, not even at their door.

Can it be easily destroyed in the few seconds after being deployed? Sure. It also recharges and he'll do it again. I can't watch every part of the map at all times.

Basically its makes a sub-par player a force to be reckoned with, and that says op to me.
