Maybe it's because I'm a Sniper. There really is no good vantage point, the times I played on it I got raped by Bouncer and Gremlin spam, the juice dispenser is in a really odd place, I can't kill any bots without being in the open. In general I just think the map is too small with lots of nooks and crannies.

But this is just what I think of it so far, maybe I just had so bad matches.

I'll admit that when I play Sniper, I tend to be more in the midfield regardless of the map. However, the short hallways that go underneath the bridges seem to be excellent spots to put Traps. I've caught a few Juiced Pros in those halls before they could do anything to our turrets, but being day 1 of the DLC, players may wise up to this trick. Also, when there are a ton of bots and pros fighting for control of the center, upgraded Flak can devastate the other side if they don't retreat.

True, but it's hard to hold the middle of the map. That's were all the Pros/Bots meet.

Plus if a Support hacks the turrent that's close to the middle then it will have enough range to fire at you if you hold up in the middle. And I'd rather use my flak on pros, Sniper Passive 3 is for killing bots, not flak.

    This is my favorite feature.

And I think bouncers spawn automatically, I started a private match and saw they spawned every now and then. They never did that on other maps did they?

They seriously do? I can't be on the ground or I'll be raped by turrets and 7 bouncers, and I can't be on the top because EVERYBODY is on the top. I can't use my advantage of range because the map is to small. I guess the map would be ok for Snipers who use their SMG a lot.

I helped out a sniper earlier. I put my Firebase in the little tunnel outside your spawn and he got a few kills and cleared out the bots easily.

You also have the bridge above the bot spawner to snipe people from. You'll only be picking off the people who walk into the middle but it's a start. Also I think snipers can jump higher (I know I can jump onto the Ammo Mule roof from the bridges) so maybe you can jump onto the pillars that are stepping stones from the spawn to ejector/ juice spawner.

So there really isn't much space for an offensive sniper in there =\

I didn't have any major problems sniping on it and I also went up against some decent snipers. I just think the map takes some getting used to... I'm sure you'll adjust if you keep at it.

Snappy, you can't jump on the pillars. The bridge above the bot spawn makes for a terrible sniping spot. You can't kill any bots, and the glass wall is not in a good spot to hide and make potshots with. And I'm a decent sniper, I had positive KDs when I played on Spunky Cola, just not as big as the 40-2 that I normally get.

Ya Snappy, there isn't too many options.

I like it b/c 3 longshots are so effective here (though they die in like 3 secs).

Just how EASY MODE do you want sniper to be? You've already got explosive shot, so you don't have to aim.

Then get 40 - 2 with another class? (If that's nearly as possible)

Yes Spunky spawns random bouncers, which is odd. I also believe it spawns them more often as time progresses.

Just put an ice trap in the tunnel and sit in that corner facing the middle where the two bot lanes converge and you completely shut out the enemy bots.
Throw flak when you can to deter the enemy team.
With proxys it's one of the best front line sniper maps there are.

You might not get teh madd killzorz but you'll be helping your team A LOT.

I'm nominating this to be an all-around general PROTIP for Snipers.

    Wow, you can't go 40 and 2?

I feel so bad for you.

This is a hallmark of map variation. You have 3 maps where a good sniper WILL dominate. Not might, WILL. Your sight lanes are HUGE on Steel Peel, Ammo Mule, and Grenade III. Granted you now have glass walls you can snipe around, but you can still make enemy pro's days sad. LazeRazor requires more work, but you can still control both bot lanes from one spot, which is on the right side of your base.

ADAPT. Good suggestions for typical Sniper abuse of other pros are abound here. You can 100% control flow through the entire right side of your base. You can drop ice traps in every single way enemy pros can move through. Your flak will heavily damage the entire enemy bot wave at once. You're not going to be able to shoot the enemy in their spawn unless you get aggressive and go to their side where all the risks are, unlike currently where you can pretty safely snipe within the protective blanket of freeze traps, freeze traps on jump pad landings, etc. from your side of the map.

I'm sorry if I come off a little rough here, I hate snipers with a passion, and their dominance on other maps inspires little pity for your plight on this one. 30+ kills with under five death games are a testament to MAP DESIGN and not particularly the ability of the sniper in question.

The map fix to Steel Peel is causing me to like it more, although being pinned in your base from a convenient platform just outside it is still irritating, I won't have my bots being picked off from the safety of the enemy base as easily.

I think I'm going to make a Spunky Sniper build, for lols.

Flak is an absolute monster on spunky due to one bot lane. I've seen quite a few snipers make up for a lack of a base to base LOS by controlling and even pushing with flak.

I don't know what this guy is talking about, a sniper can rule the living hell out of this map... you have 3 *narrow* choke points, plenty of camping areas off in distance, and 2 primary areas of cross traffic. What else do what want as a sniper? Oh wait, omg, no open bot lanes that stretch the entire distance of the map! You can get on those pillars btw. One of the fun things about the map is nobody has every stupid nook, cranny, trick, and flaw memorized and categorized.

The best thing so far imo about Spunky isn't that it frustrates Snipers (dont believe that anyways), but that the stupid charge grapple of the Assault, or the overpowered boot of the Sniper won't knock you out of the map the majority of the time because there are walls and obstacles everywhere. Finally, something.
