Finding mods on a forum format where non-mod posts are included is far from idea. So I created a Mod Archive for those who are interested. Archive home: http://pamatches.com/mods/ Full list: http://pamatches.com/mod/ Submit or claim a mod: http://pamatches.com/mods/submit-or-claim-a-mod/ For mod creators, y'all can get accounts setup on PA Matches so you can update the descriptions and whatnot on the fly, if you're interested. Hopefully players will find this archive useful. Suggestions to improve the archive are appreciated.
I think you should feature the Mod Manager. It's basically THE one big thing to allow for easy mod downloads. Also linking the mod list sticky might be a good idea.
Yeah I also would link just the modmanager. It's a hassle uploading mods to multiple places. And coming modmanager supports new mod system. So all mods can be downloadable from the modmanager.
I think all mods need to be handled by official Uber tools and archive also have to be official, or it's wont work good.
I do link to it on the "how to instal mods" page, but I suppose I could promote it more. Just sucks that it's Windows only. The Mac/Linux one seems under developed. The instructions are sub par and I can't get the thing to work.
It was for a while, but as you've probably seen, the new version 3.0.0 has feature parity with raevn's 3.0.3 (minus the self-update feature). I also included some better instructions. The problem is mainly that I'm not used to Mac and I always have to steal somebody's Mac to even compile the Mac binary. The source code is always included though. At some point, i should probably just figure out how to make one of those dmg-thingies.
The Mac mod manager won't work for me. Error: "/opt/local/Library/Frameworks/QtCore.framework/Versions/4/QtCore" I installed the latest version QtCore specifically for this mod manager.
Well, I have no idea why that is happening. The path you gave is exactly how qt4 is installed on the test-mac. Anyway, I think I managed to get the dmg stuff to work. Try downloading this: https://github.com/DeathByDenim/pamm/raw/master/pamm.dmg If you open that, it should just show pamm and starting it from inside the bundle should work. It works on my test-mac, but that one is used for compiling as well, so you never know.
Well. The dmg worked. And when I installed the mods, the mod files were put into the mods folder. However, the mods weren't properly installed and they don't work in game. Very close. Is there any info you need from me to help diagnose this?
Does anyone know if Uber is going to be putting together a more official repository like what kerbal space program is doing? Something searchable by category? Automatic updating via the game client itself would also be pretty awesome.
Yes. They're going to have an official archive. They also have mentioned plans on having premium mods where the proceeds go to the mod developer, like the App Store or Android Marketplace. There's definitely going to be much better integration with mods in the future. In the meantime, PA Matches has a mod archive.
Ah, doh. I think I found the bug. The ui_mod_list.js and mods.json isn't written on the installation of a mod. Try disabling and then enabling one of the installed mods. That will trigger a write and should make all of the mods work.
I uninstalled the plugins and then reinstalled the plugins, and they didn't work. ... And then I realized I didn't update the Mod Manager. lol It works now! Thank you so much.
