I'm not sure where else to request this, so here goes. Could we please get hp bars back. I understand uber removed them to make the game look prettier and that's fine, but could we have a player option to always show them regardless of zoom distance. For people who would rather have this very important information than have the game look pretty. This has been bugging me for ages. For example, I have no idea if my 10 fighters will get demolished or not fighting against another 10 fighters because they are low hp. I don't want to have to zoom in so they are right up in my face to be able to see this information.
It is determined by unit icon distance. Basically, if you want strategic icons to show, you can't have hp bars and vice versa. So for all intents and purposes, it's removed and not in the options menu. This has been the case for months
Don't they show on damaged units? Though I never cared for unit health. Not in PA, not in FA. They don't really matter usually. Units are either alive or dead.
My big problem is usually during air battles and late-game fights with T2 Vehicles. Or even things like my Nuke launcher. Seriously folks. I need to now if my ANuke is about to die or not after I fended off a bombing run. Having to zoom all the way in is a pain. Until they get the T2 Balance sorted, I'll always be worried about my higher-health units. It's just useful.
It could be cool to merge HP bars with Unit/Structure Icons somehow. Perhaps the colour lowering down the more damaged something got, or the icon having chunks/holes knocked out of it.
No they don't show. When they introduced the new strategic icons before release, they changed it so that you can only show either the icons or the hp bars based on zoom distance. Wouldn't think it'd be hard to change that behavior back? Also, health is important but i don't think it's really relevant to discuss that. An option for people who want to see a simple hp bar would be good enough - it's pretty standard across RTS's. People who don't care enough wouldn't have 'clutter' imposed on their screen and everyone is happy.
