Since you are playing on many different planets at once how will you know what is going on everywhere?

Knowing what it happening everywhere in Supreme Commander is hard enough, and this game will span entire solar systems. How will the player be able to stay in control of everything?

You zoom out for a general view, and back in for specific planets.

But this is per solar system, you won't be managing all of your conquered territory.

Pretty much this. You will be managing stuff in one solar system. GW will let you take over an entire galaxy - this much is true - but once you annihilate a solar system and piss-off elsewhere you can forget about looking after it.

Well, it would be nice if the enemy could try to retake a system. Though I do think you should only have to manage 1 system at a time.

I think from what they said in one of the early interviews that when you get to the higher tech levels your weapons (as in asteroids) will start making parts of planets then whole planets uninhabitable, forcing you in close together.

but i don't imagine it being much more complicated than SubCom, get zoom out spin some planets to have a look zoom back in.

How are those things mutually exclusive?

It'd be abstracted obviously. Think Total War Series.

EDIT: Sorry, I'm thinking singleplayer. I still think it would be similar multiplayer, but you'd have a chance to call back your attack and focus on defending, or continuing your attack and let the AI handle it (either attacking or defending).

EDIT2: Specified what "it" was at the end.

I bout it'll done in real time like that, I don't think you have to worry about pop-ups mid match, I imagine it'd happen between matches then you can choose if you respond to it or let it go.

Can you be interrupted mid battle in Total War, or are you responding to someone else?

Oh....yes, well, I guess that is what it means when you don't quote anyone. *looks for a "feels stupid" smiley*.

    Anyway, I agree...and carry on >_>

Or, you know, you could express yourself with words. It's a sad time we live in if people are unable to express emotion without the aid of pixelated yellow cartoon faces.

Smileys are more efficient compared to using words. That's why people started using them after all.
Also, just because someone prefers a smiley, doesn't say anything about his ability to express himself.

Back in my day we called them emoticons, and they didn't have stupid pictures associated with them. Get off my lawn.

that's why I like to do them backwards so the don't auto filter to pics.

:) rock it old school, and it simpler than putting invisible characters in the middle

Or you can just turn them off for your posts in the little check box below the typing field....

This is now a successful emoticon thread.

Big smile is my only weakness but I can to this instead   D:   yip yip yip yip

[edit]it also only "stays off" for the one post you did it in. Not every post you make.
