How to turn on magnetic view?

Hello I recently tried playing on a water planet but I cannot find the button to enable the magnetic view. how would I do so?

What do you mean with magnetic view? Never heard of such a thing.

The view that lets you see metal spots underwater. Some alternate view I heard about that shows magnetic properties or something.

Isn't magnetic view, and isn't togglable, but it's the closest you'll get until Uber gets strat icons in for metal points.

The metal extractors SNAP onto mex points. Just go to build a water mex and drag it around the water until it goes from red to snapping to something nearby and white. You have found your water mex!
