Basically I somehow muted myself after the patch and can't figure out how to unmute myself.
Wondering if the anyone or the devs know a fix for this, MNC is the only game I've played in awhile so I can only assume it was from some glitch pertaining to the game.

As evidence I let my friend Randy T. play a game for me today and I took a pic...

Never happened to me before, but if I recall you have to be host in order to do it. You might be able to do that by starting a private match with a guest. I thought this was fixed in the title update, though.

I've been host a bunch of times since then and there's still no option to unmute.
Hitting the mute button while host does nothing either.

I'm told we thought we fixed it. Surprised this is still out there.

Seems like trying to unmute yourself during a host migration may fix it.

This is an issue I thought I'd fixed in the recent title update...but apparently not so well.

Manouso, do you remember how/when you muted yourself exactly? Any details you can give me will help.

As for how to unmute yourself, I'm still researching a good way to fix this (and more permanently), but another player who experienced this same thing said he was able to unmute himself during a host migration (i.e., I think he means select yourself in the lobby, and then during the game travel try unmuting yourself).

Sweet thanks for the speedy response. Thumbs up
Going to try it when I get back on in a few.
Now if I can only find a game where the host leaves early... ;)

I am having the same problem. I seem to remember it happening right before the patch. I had done it before, and was able to fix it, but after the patch it became impossible. It happened while trying to mute a loud child and the selection moved to me when someone dropped out of the match, I believe. It also shows up in other games like COD: WAW. I have tried unmuting as host, and other ways up to and including jamming the hell out of the button, and offering to bake it cookies. I do not know if it matters, but I am on the dashboard beta, and have a 250gig slim.

I tried it a few times but to no avail. I'll keep trying when host leaves and hopefully it'll work one of these days.
    So just so I'm clear,
-I have to wait for a game where host leaves
-highlight my name and click A

If I'm missing something let me know.
Also I'm assuming host has to quit from the lobby because I can't hit back when he leaves mid game.

It doesn't affect the game itself and people can still hear me, but I can't tell if my mic is working or not when I'm with friends or even talking to random people.
The finicky things microsoft calls headsets need to be adjusted all the time, so sometimes I'm just talking to myself. :(
Not to mention I have to stare at a big red symbol next to my name.
Also like mojo said I'm muted everywhere.

I refuse to turn into one of "those" kids:
Hello can anyone hear me? Helloooo Helloooooo
    ...hear mic disconnecting/reconnecting
    Hellooooo

Also I'm not on the dash beta.

I had this happen post-patch, and I know what I did to make it happen. However, I don't know how I fixed it. (Really, the problem seemed to have resolved itself at some point. I don't have a mic so I wasn't paying attention.)

Sometimes, if you try to mute a player that is directly above or below (don't remember which) you on the scoreboard as he or she is dropping, you will end up muting yourself.

    Hope this helps.

Clear your Cache. I did this to myself, called Microsoft and the first thing they told me was to clear my Cache. Low and behold that got rid of me muting myself.

I specifically came here to say exactly that. Clearing the cache worked for me, but I did it on accident when I wanted to remove the update on Castle Crashers to level up a character fast to play with my brother.
