The 360 version of MNC has horrible matchmaking and I've been spending more time in lobbies than in actual games. Therefore, I am switching to the PC.

I've lowered all visual and audio settings but that's it. I'm not sure if VSYNC does anything (please tell me what it is).

I need your help to make it run better. Thanks.

    Specs:
    Toshiba Satellite M505
    Pentium Dual Core T2400 @ 2.00 GHz
    4 GB RAM
    Windows Vista 64-bit SP2

    :/

vsync limits your framerate to the refresh rate of your screen. So if your refresh rate is 60 and you would normally get 100fps, it will limit you to 60fps and sync it to the refresh cycle of your screen. This way, only whole frames get drawn on the screen. Without vsync, you can end up with part of one frame and part of another drawn at one time, creating a "tearing" effect that can be seen usually when moving sideways

unfortunately to do the synchronization, vsync usually also adds some lag that can make it harder to aim well. I usually like to have it off.

My best tip for squeezing some more performance out of the game:

    Browse to My Documents/My Games/UnrealEngine3/HostileGame/Config
Open HostileGraphicsSettings.ini in a text editor
    Find the line "ScreenPercentage=100.000000"
    Change 100 to 50
Save the file, start the game

This will render the 3d portions of the game at half resolution while still keeping text and GUI elements sharp and readable

    This definitely helps.

Can you please tell me all of the files I can fiddle around with to improve my performance?

One other thing. I not only reduce the screen percentage to half but I do disable a few things. I'll have screen shots up when I'm ready with the file this evening.
