I am trying to get used to Hotbuild and hotkeys in general, i'm wondering if some of the more experienced hotkey users would like to share their setups. So far I've been using the WASD community default on Hotbuild, but I'm sure there's better ways to play. For me it's pretty awkward using to hotkeys, since I've been a click spammer for a while forever. Keyboard shortcuts are obviously much quicker and convenient, and essential for 1v1. Anyone have some awesome setup they'd like to share?
I use HotBuild too and much preferred the Arrow Keys setup - it freed up more of the keyboard for useful commands, and I control the camera with the mouse anyway. There's still some useful commands that are unbound by default, but get used to the main keys and then fill in the blanks as you get used to things.
Without going into specific hotbuild queue orders as I'm at work and I'll surely get it wrong, I've tried to move everything I use frequently to the left-hand side of the keyboard and I use my mouse for moving around the map. For me there just isnt' enough available keys to lose 4 of them to panning the camera. (Qwerty keyboard!) ` - Select Commander Q - Hotbuild Metal W - Hotbuild Power E - Hotbuild Radar R - Hotbuild T1 factories T - Hotbuild T2 factories A - Attack S - Stop D - Hotbuild Defense buildings F - Select idle fabbers G - Hotbuild wall \ - Toggle Repeat Build Z - Toggle Power X - Patrol C - Assist V - Ubercannon B - Ping I wouldn't suggest copying that as it is just something I made up one day but it does cover most of the commonly used commands in reach of 1 hand without having to move it.
As always if someone makes a good config post them in hotbuild thread I'll add them to the list of defaults.
