Ok so i had a good base and all that and i was fighting some friends, and i had a positive economy and my enemies were able to walk into my base without my holkins firing once, it was a living one too, i checked the chrono cam, it makes no sense, i lost my commander cause of this and i demand an explanation.
Demand an explanation? There's no need to be hostile. It's just a game. What's more, we can't really give you a reason unless we watch it – if even that. Likely it's just a bug. The game is in Beta after all. Maybe the Holkins was firing at other stuff. Did you have radar coverage? Who knows. It's not a big deal. Likely was just a glitch.
If the diameter of the planet is less than 1000 the Holkins will not fire because it cannot find a firing solution.
I've had issues with the holkins myself. Cannot force attack a random spot on the map, is this a bug or intended? If it's intended I really don't see why. Also failed to target units under planes line of sight. Also, unrelated, but mouse cursor fails to turn to attack cursor when holkins (or other offensive unit) is selected and I hover above ennemy unit.
I have, for sure, seen instances where an umbrealla should be firing but isn't. Not sure I've ever seen that with a Holkins but it wouldn't surprise me if the auto-attack gets broken sometimes. Did you try manually picking targets for it?
There's been issues with the Umbrella in the past. Have you had them recently? I had heard they were fixed.
I never play on planets with 1000 radius. . . Holkins work fine... but that problem could be caused by the height value?
