Help: How do I set up a dedicated server?

I can't see any obvious doco for this, so I'll ask here:

In order to run a ded server, does it
a) Have a downloadable server that can be run without purchasing another copy
b) run on linux

B. If it MNC runs on Wine, maybe the dedicated server will run on your flavor.

you can run a dedicated server on a brand new steam account on which you did not buy the game
just install the game using your main account, switch to the new account and launch the server through commandline.
no linux atm.

Does this allow you to play on your server with your main account?
