Heal/Hurt gun issue...

    It seems to me that the hurt gun/heal gun focuses mainly on bots which comes an issue when healing you buddies and hurting your enemies. I think you guys should implement a way to target who you want via highlighting. Small issue I know but it can be quite the nuisance when you are surrounded by bots.

    You raise a valid point, and during my few times playing (effectively :oops: ) as Support, I've definitely noticed this too.

    But look at it from the other perspective as well - other classes are forced to shoot at enemy bots when an enemy pro hides in a swarm of them, and I don't think it would be particularly fair if the support was exempt from this setback - I think the devs intended for the bots to have a secondary purpose as mobile cover.

    Though as far as healing is concerned, I completely agree.

    In any case, it's just something to think about. You won't see me raging on here if uber takes your advice, I'll just adapt. :)

    Good point but the problem comes in when the pro isn't very close to the bots yet it still auto aims to them if you are close. I don't like the auto aim at all really, most of the time it messes me up and I have no problems having a little more responsibility with it.

    Basically what i'm saying is that the hurt gun clearly doesn't take priority (all the time) to the pro regardless of whether or not they are in line with the bots.

    The gun should give priority to whatever's in the crosshairs. That would solve most of the targeting problems.

    We have been looking into this issue and I would not be surprised to see some improvements in future DLC.

    Cool thanks. Also just a quick question. Is the hit registration going to be fixed in the next patch? I'm talking about the issue where you see the shots register but no damage is done. That gets really annoying and my statistics show that 4/6 games the Shotty doesn't register every shot. I can be chasing some guy and each shot i fire in his back doesn't do any damage.

    I really don't feel like there is anything wrong with it now? if you can't do it don't play support. . . . I think the fact that it doesn't have a crosshair makes it fair. Support is such an overpowered class as it is, making it easier to use would mean they would either have to decrease/increase how much it heals/hurts and then a whole array of other small changes in all the other classes.

    I say leave it as it is and if you can't do it, play assassin.

    That sounded extremely ignorant. I fail to see how auto aim on the hurt gun makes more fair than having to actually aim. I want to be in more control of my beam because I am actually competent enough to do so. How about before you claim something is broken you actually think about why. All classes have tools to take out a Support. It may be harder for Assassins and Assaults but thats life. You probably take the skill level of a bunch of xbox randoms and claim that is the skill level of real players just like everyone else around here.

    I thought this was going to be about the range cause I could be a assassin cloaked & id be getting drained & I used smoke bomb & its still getting me all the way in the air then through the wall.. its ridiculous! I could understand like 1 long line if it were a straight away or looking at me but I looked & he's not even facing me at all & hitting me really really far & through a wall. :|

    Yeah, I've been at the top of my jump over a wall and still died to the Hurt Gun before. Overall the weapon simply needs an overhaul. The auto-aim is glitchy at best and it will target through walls, stop having any effect despite the visual still showing, be unable to lock onto a target with nothing in the way, etc. What's worse is that the damage rate seems to be variable and there are some games where a Support hurts faster than others so I'm guessing latency plays a huge part as well.

    You're obviously super smart, so good luck with them changing the game just so you can have an easier time aiming on support because you don't know how.

    Have you not been reading? I don't like auto aim. I want to be in more control of my aiming so I can actually choose who I want to target with the hurt/heal gun.

    Yes, I have tried to bring this up before, nice to read Uber is trying to fix it.

    Also, when quickly changing between heal targets, sometimes the beam will show up, but the sound of healing is not there and the target's health does not go up. Have to re-target your subject, wastes precious seconds in battle.

    I definitely think the best way to fix the issue to just have Support hit whatever he's aiming. I also think the Hurt gun should actually need to be aimed to at least some extent, as opposed to just locking on. It makes maneuvering pointless, and results in some undeserved kills when players are low on health.

    Agree'd, I actually feel bad for a lot of Assaults because I really don't need to aim that thing at all yet he has to actually be proficient with the Rifle. It can be beaten though with a steady stream of bullets. It just gets hard when we are bunny hopping around. Definitely not impossible though.
