Seems like it would be a simple enough way to handle gear management once there is multiple items per class. Also: make it so that when you are in the "create custom class menu" you can click on whatever class you want to edit and it automatically takes you to the endorsement page. Also it'd be nice if it showed what the default endorsements are for each class when you are in the custom class selection screen. I remember most of em but sometimes I can't remember which rank a specific classes default abilities are.
and by multiple items per class I don't mean all at once, I mean switchable. As in, you could have the eyepatch OR you could have this new LazerRazer brand sunglasses. So why not have it so you can save your favorite gear for that class to a custom class loadout. Also there is no reason to NOT implement this even with the current gear in the game. Simply have it remember ok when I select this custom class I created I want my TF2 brand gear equiped. However when I select THIS custom class I don't.
Today I don't feel like wearing an eye-patch. Oh ****, I forgot to edit my class, damit. Get the point? It's fine this way, there isn't a need to change it.
Except it's a pain in the arse choosing your class/changing your class quickly and instantly because it always takes TWO clicks to close the class menu because it asks me if I want to be normal or hat fortress themed. We already have enough tanks, I wanted SUPPORT. NO I DO NOT WANT A HAT WITH THAT.
... but I think it's nice. There are times I do NOT want to wear the gear, and times I feel like going, yeah... I'll wear it this time.
I think the point is to save your preference, and have to ability to switch if you feel like it. So I would have Demo-Assault on by default, but could still switch to normal gear were I to choose.
That would be different than what he is suggesting, and although I like the idea, it really isnt that hard to do a couple clicks. :|
Hey I know how to please everyone. Set it in the custom class and allow you to click it on or off at the start of the game. Difference being, now if you don't want it on that game, you click it off.
Once again, mibuwolf crapping on any ideas that remotely change the game whatsoever. P.S. I never said to remove the gear switch button in-game did I? So stop assuming things.
Ok. Now with additional skin choices: I take back everything I said. Implement this now. It would be certainly annoying to choose Hero skin or Tf2 or normal skin everytime.
