Have people figured out the new builds yet for this patch?

    my first 2 buildings are fac followed by an energy storage, but after that im a little unsure as to what to go as im drowning in energy. i normally send my comander off building a couple of pgens followed by energy extracters. or is it better to use the extra power to have the commander spamming out a couple of early factories for early harass ect?

    Initially: 2 mex, pgen, mex, fac, 2 pgen, fac. :p After that, you have so many options, it's down to personal taste really.

    I go:
    bot fac, this one produces fabbers that build mex
    bot fac, this one produces dox that raid stuff
    p. Gen,
    mex,
    4 more p.gens,


    After that it's pretty straightforward.

    Opening with two factories seems common but an energy storage first is probably not unreasonable. Those vanguards are still really strong so you can't usually afford to delay your t2, but that will depends on the map and how much metal you have.

    I am currently starting with energy storage, factory (3 fabbers), metal, pgen, factory, then commander mixing pgens and factories, while 2 fabbers build extractors and third one completely dependent on situation (usually radar and pgens or radar and factories).
    I don't know if it is a good start, as I didn't even try to go for straight two factories, but it definitely feels right. Energy storage first allows to stockpile good amount of energy while it is in surplas, allowing fabbers and factories to operate at full efficiency, while commander can build more factories, and waste less time on pgens.

    The other thing to think about- the new resources available actually work out as just the right amount to assist an building factory, so: Factory, com assist units XYZ isn't a bad idea if you want to get something in particular quickly...

    Examples- 1 x combat fabber to reclaim trees (+60 metal for 1 energy on forested planets), maybe a couple of scouts + a group of infernos if your close to someone (early raid).
