Hello Everyone, I just want to ask the general community that are playing on Mac if they have had the same experience whilst on playing on the new alpha version (5.1118) I've played three games today against people (all 1v1v1) and one match against AI. Every time I played a player the map size that I could see in the lobby was size 6. Even when I wasn't hosting. When the games started, all the maps were huge earth worlds. 5+ spawn options. My poor Mac couldn't even render them properly. The 1st game crashed as soon as serious unit numbers started being used. The 2nd game didn't crash but got verrrry slow. You can imagine I'm sure. When I asked the host who had created the game if he had gone for a size 6 world he said he had put size 3 in the setup. The 3rd game was supposed to be played on a size 3 moon. As soon as it loaded we were on a massive size 6 earth that was 75% water. (Great, get to try out ships ) Sadly what resulted was a game of turtles until it was too slow to do anything. 3 players on a size 6 map is just insane with the present setup. I decided to test if this size 6 syndrome would happen if I hosted. so I set up a 1v1 with the AI to see what would happen. The size 3 tropical loaded without a hitch. However, there were 4 teams present in the lobby when I had specifically set up a 1v1 match and was consequently swarmed by 3 AI's bombers. Carnage! Is this just my Mac being special? Or have other Mac users experienced this in 51118? I'm going to report this as a bug through the correct channels, but would love to know if anyone else has had this too? Cheers *edit: changed all numbers to numbers for continuity. Having re-read the post, jumping from numerical words to numbers was confusing!
Re: Have other Mac Users experienced this? Want to double ch So there is a known bug where planets don't show up properly in the lobby. This will be fixed with the next patch. Since custom planets are now available, players will probably try and test the boundaries by making really large and really small planets. Soon you we be able to see the correct information in the lobby (so you can choose if you want to play the game before clicking ready). We may have to reduce to maximum planet size until we get more optimizations in place. It looks like you were getting a bug where the game config was not being sent to the server correctly. Creating a 1v1 should work correctly, and as long as you click ready before some one joins you should be able to play against the AI. Please let me know if you continue to have a problem with custom games.
Re: Have other Mac Users experienced this? Want to double ch Im a windows user but I did notice the game putting in an extra army even though I set the amount of armies to only 2 it would then start with 3, it worked properly when I tried again.
Re: Have other Mac Users experienced this? Want to double ch Just played a couple of games against the AI no problems. Setup was as expected. It seems to be fixed! Do you want me to still do the bug report?
Re: Have other Mac Users experienced this? Want to double ch I found one bud.. http://pa.lennardf1989.com/Tracker/inde ... sk_id=1802 I just voted and added my comment, if it's a random bug may as well report it anyway
Re: Have other Mac Users experienced this? Want to double ch Just played another game tonight and it was on a size 6 planet. It specifically said size 6 in my lobby, but another person in the game that I was chatting to at the end when he trounced me said that he saw that it was size 3 in his lobby. Here is a print screen of things from my end. I also tried joining about 4 different game lobbies afterwards and they all said size 6 planet size. I think that my mac is special :?
