subtle title change Lets read the article. http://halocouncil.com/content.php?55-G ... ion-leaked Wait what? So like Modern Warfare? Wow how innovative! Sprinting in a multiplayer FPS? What the hell kinda black magic is this? So basically, its borrowing elements from other shooters (Modern Warfare primarily) in order it make it more varied, unique and fast-paced? Halo multiplayer to me is ideally a 4 on 4 match where the map is symmetrical for both teams. All players move at the same speed and there is no difference in initial loadout. Weapon spawns are equidistant from both team spawns and part of the strategy is to lock down those areas so your teammates get the power weapons. Once you get the power weapons your team sets up around the opposing teams spawn and if the setup is good enough you rape them. This method of gameplay emphasizes on the skill of the individual and how well you work in a team. With RANDOMLY PLACE WEAPONS and RESPAWNING WHENEVER THE F_CK YOU FEEL LIKE IT, it completely ruins the whole point of the game. Armor abilities and custom load outs mess up the balance that makes the game good. It's not even about skill anymore, just luck. I wouldve been happy for Halo 3 with sprinting. Also this Spartan Ops thing sounds too much like Spec Ops from that other game.
Instant spawning was in Quake IIRC. EDIT - Heavy weapons randomly spawning on the map seems pretty bad though. The majority of the time (I hope) the team with the most map control will get the power weapons. I guess this reduces camping from most campers, so they can't wait by the power weapon spawns (unless they get lucky).
>Bungie leaving the franchise. >Makes Ha-lol Reach, an arguably great game. >Instead of just letting the franchise R.I.P., Macrohard lets the new company in control make Ha-Lol games. >It doesn't matter what they do with it, it will never compare to Bungie's work. >New company makes it an even blander, more generic FPS than it was before. >You're honestly surprised.
And it's come full circle. Halo created regenerating health, and was subsequently ripped off by everyone else. (Although Halo was the only one that could justify it, being shields technically). Now Halo is taking it's cues from COD. As long as they keep in forge and don't remove anything from it, then it's still fine in my opinion. I rarely did matchmaking. Also, I'm so glad they decided to give a plot to multiplayer. Was there a need? Frankly I'll stick to my Red vs. Blue if I want there to be any sort of reason for things.
There was a sort-of plot to CoD's multiplayer: Russians vs. Everyone I remember when the only good console FPS' were Halo and Goldeneye. I just hope more shooters in the future don't base their ideas off of some of CoD's. Modern Warfare didn't reinvent the first person shooter, but people are starting to think it is now.
It isn't regenerating health if you can take 6 more hits after draining what regens Besides, UT had health regen as an option back in 99 Halo isn't exactly immune to ripping off ideas either
At least the zombies are back. But the zombies can jump like 10 feet high and run as fast as Usain Bolt which I think is very phony and cheap.
I'm completely biased, but I'm honestly looking forward to random weapon drops! Also, in one of the 343 Sparkcasts, it was confirmed that Instant Spawns would ONLY take place in Slayer matches. Timed spawns will be enforced in Objective gametypes. RE6 yes, GTA V no. Personally, GTA's campaigns have never been able to keep my attention for more than an hour. Would never pay for it again at full $60 retail.
Was never interested in GTA and RE:6 looks fun for about a month. I just hope that 343 can live up to what Bungie has set before them.
Yeah, but Halo was the one who popularized it. I don't even use my brick any more so I'm not even going to get it. I don't know why I care.
