Three planets, two lava, one desert, you can spawn on any one of them. Sounds pretty standard, right? Here's the fun part: Each planet only had four metal spots. Isn't lovely? I didn't have PA-stats on but I can get the lobby ID later if you want. Is this supposed to happen?
Code: if (self.uberId() == 'Geers' ) { self.systemTemplate.planets.forEach( function(planet) { planet.MetalDensity = 0; planet.MetalClusters = 0; }); } Yep, sorry.
I get these systems all the time and absolutely hate them, especially when you have a bunch of subcommanders who grab the metal spots and proceed to do nothing in the game because interplanetary AI is completely borked right now.
Those are most boring and easiest to win systems. Just get control of other planets asap, make mexes then metal silo, and go for coffe or so, let it fill up. Or just queue some t2 and go for coffe. Then build 10 t2 tanks and send to enemy. On the other hand system with 4 small moons each having 1-3 helleys, is the hardest game in GW. There is no sure way of winning it. Only hope is that all AI commanders go to same planet and you get control of remaining 3, or at least not let them create halleys on those and buy more time. Ps. I would love totally random galaxy with like 500 stars for really epic wars. Something like spore had with that evil aliens war.
But that is bit unfair, it is like slapping kid that cannot defend. Also i stopped playing PVP because all those cheesy tactics, and PvP game is not about fun & fighting but about defending from all those snipes. So i stopped PVP because of it and using such tactic against AI reeks of hypocrisy. However I do not care about "hypocrisy" and cheesy tactics while conquering first planet. Then i try to play fair with AI and do not use tactics that AI has no way to defend. Also one more rule nuke for nuke, i send only as many nukes as AI sends me.
No, it is more like cheating yourself. I want some fun and challenge, and there is none in exploiting tactics that AI cannot handle. Why bother with game if i exploit it, well that is fun few first times, but after that i want AI that can give some challenge.
I absolutely, utterly hate those 4-spot planet systems. Whenever I see a system in GW that has only 3 planets in it i clench up. The tiny amounts of eco available just slows everything down and i am so thankful when the enemy actually spawns on the same planet as me, since it means i can rush him quickly and move on. Its absolute hell dealing with them without any orbital technology. Having to ferry fabbers around with those slow-*** Astreus and only have him get instantly shot down or bomber sniped is aggravating.
