Gunner Deploy is Useful!!!

I know a lot of people on this forum say that the gunner deploy is useless and that it should be avoided when upgrading and whatnot. While it may not be useful under all circumstances, I actually like the deploy because it has saved my butt several times. Yesterday I deployed at half health and took down another gunner, a support and a sniper in under ten seconds. It also works great for damaging the money ball and not getting grappled by an assassin.

I have also found deploy to be useful when taking on a high-armored gunner. When I deploy with bronze armor, I put out more damage and have close to the amount of armor as a gold armor gunner.

If you run bronze critical shots, it is amazing because of the damage boost given to you from the endorsement.

yeah, i have had several situations in which i killed a double overhealed gunner along with his two supports. for some reason, people think you need to deploy in plain view of a sniper and wait for him to shoot you.

over 2700 deployed minigun kills and i bet i died from a sniper maybe 50 times.

situational awareness.

Particularly hilarious if you have a Support who keeps your health topped up. I do love my Gold Crits/Silver Armour/Bronze Clip Size class.

Now how many times have you been air striked while trying to hurry up and un-deploy? :lol:

Probably as many times as I've accidentally re-deployed while trying to get away...

ie not playing against Sigmar and not playing in a private match.

The key is not to stay deployed for too long, and sometimes you might want to deploy under a ledge or shelter.

I've personally seen Tom deploy to kill some legit competition and succeed with no problem.

Like Tom said, situational awareness, and like OP said, not staying deployed for more than a few seconds.

People think deploying isn't useful? It's amazing, I use it for a fourth of all my kills as gunner.

Once again it probably seems im beating the competetive gaming speach with a lead pipe, but deploying wont work against a good team. Try deploying against GP, Destiny, New scum, or Jack trips team for more than 4 seconds and tell me how you died.

Tip number 1 of deploy: Never deploy in front of a sniper.

I disagree.

I think deploy is only somewhat useful when you see someone, and they don't see you. Deploy to slow them down and make sure they die before they get away. Trying to think of a way to use deploy competitively right now.........not really working out. Maybe...you could deploy, get a few shots on their Assault/Tank to slow them down for a team shot. You'd have to undeploy almost immediatley. I bet I could get away with a few sneaky deploys, not recommended though.

I only use it for the following:
1. Blocking overzealous Tank/Assault charges
2. Quickly killing someone in a 1v1 situation
3. Being a jerk on the spawn ring
4. Avoid getting ejected
5. Killing Snipers (With lvl 3, lol)

People just get too confident with it.

It's proven.

Gunner deploy is the best skill in the game.

took my deploy gunner to a surprising 37-13 against miracles gunner in a private match yesterday.

Miracle say's: "Are you serious it was 3v5 we only had 1 slayer. The guy on our team had never played a private match before AND we had bro! You fail to mention the other 6v6 games where he was also gunner how did that work out?"

miracle had a 36-something as well.
and i was positive for all but one of those matches.
