Grenades of Assault just damaging yourself or also allies

I noticed I can damage myself quite heavily with the grenades from Assault (both the skill and the weapon). I don't really want to shoot my allies on purpose to test that in a match but I would be very interested to know if I have to be careful

You only have to be careful with yourself. It only hurts enemies.
