I just bought Planetary Annihilation via Steam. A few seconds after starting the application the whole window fades to dark-gray. The window manager from Ubuntu 14.04 seems to think that the application is not responding and applies this effect to its window, while the game itself seems to run fine. A workaround is to set the game to fullscreen and restart. Switching back to window causes the gray out again.
