I am hoping someone can tell me why even after reinstalling PA the graphics on it crash all the time during any kind of battle and glitch all other play time. I can move 1200+ units without any issue as long as they are NOT engaging an enemy. I am no noob to computers and my PC is new as of 2 weeks ago. So no updates or driver complications are present. I have also tried all settings to the lowest power, no overclocks, and no overvoltage to any hardware, and reinstalling the game twice. Recently I checked the power supply for drops and line tested the 12 cables going into my GPU for sufficient electrical supply. Even the chronocam after a game cant keep up. Someone please ensure me I did not buy a game that is a dead purchase, 72 of my other games run fine even with tessalation and 3d enabling. Also 2 said they had glitch issues, and 12 said it runs smooth as butter on their lower powered systems on a thread in Steam Community. Assuming I'm reading this right your graphics driver was last updated midway through September. Are you sure there haven't been any new updates?
I just had the driver updated today to the 344.11 if I remember the # right. it came off the Nvidia GEFORCE site so im assuming it wouldn't get any newer than that, considering that's the manufacturer. Do you know of one I havnt got? to my best knowledge, the whole system is on par
the way I did it was completely wiped the adapter out and rebooted, then went to the NVidia site and download the driver. once that was done, everything worked fine on anything but the PA game. the only thing I can think of is faulty hardware or my power supply is crapping out on the load, I don't think its the PSU but its the only thing I can think of without thinking this 12 day old card is junk
Can we have a screen shot of this bad performance you speak of? ctrl-P in game to display FPS and take a screen shot and upload.
Im playing me vs AI and yes I will get a showing of what it is doing. Im thinking its a programming issue as of today because I just started playing Far Cry 2 and some of the characters are hopping around randomly. Not like lag and teleport kind, but more like how everyone jumps around in Halo or World of Warcraft. Starting to get weird with this issue but im sure they are related. I will get vids of both. If I cant put them on here, I will forward the Youtube link.
Your Youtube Vid is only 2sec is that right? in the 2sec of footage your FPS is 59-60. The lag jumps are they just in PA or also FarCry2?
Okay so I found the issue with PA, Nvidia Controller was native set to AA X16, 3D X16, and FXAA X16. I know for a FACT the GTX 760 cannot handle that kinda load, that's more for the 900 series GPUs hands down. Crashing planets and attacking is good now, just played a hour game building as much unnecessary crap I could before running out of room and theres a tiny glitchiness but negligible. But ya Far Cry 2 was played on my old VAIO without issue before, so Im going to stop wasting people's time until I can roll through the Nvidia Controller and see what other settings are choke slamming my GPU and Video Engine. I will let you know if it works in a final post, but thank you much for the concern. And yes, it was 58.5-61.0 average. It is up to 123.0-125.5 now with minor texture change but still looks good. This is probably an intrusive user error to some degree of calibration.
LMFAO I just read the post you made about the settings that SHOULD be ran on the game and it was pretty much all the same stuff I just did, although it seems as though the card has settings and so does PA, I guess its a bonus to be able to set all games prior to opening them, but a severly forgotten program to most basic users. Far Cry 2 is running smoothly now, there is still some jumping around but I believe that is the tesselation setting in the controller. controller says ON but the game says not-available. I believe the lesson to learn here is "conflict of interest" in game settings from the controller and the game itself. I will scrub the system for these issues from here on out, thanks for the help friend.
