It's buggy at the minute so even good gaming machines are coming across problems. It may not be running because you might have to update your drivers for the card. If you live in the UK try the overclockers website... your best place to look for a new graphics card if needed. Are you new by the way? :)

yes i am new can you tell...lol

my graphics card is too old and the drivers supplied dont support windows 7 so i am now investing in a graphics card and some more ram to hopefully get this game fired up at last lol

I'm think if you want some help you first need to check what power supply unit (PSU) you have and what is your budget for GPU.

For different people "cheap" have different meaning.

apparently i need one with at least 1gb video memory? so are there any you can recommend on them lines?

does it tell you about the power supply on a graphics card? i can check my power supply but how would i know if it was big enough?

Give the spec of your whole PC and if it was just bought as a complete pre-made build tell us the model and manufacturer. Just in case you need more than the graphics card.

Video memory size isn't only important for games, but yeah you need at least 1GB of GDDR5. So can you say how much money you can spend?

Also it's good idea to publicly upload your DxDiag.txt, so everyone will see what hardware you have and if this suitable for upgrades.

Just check power supply model or it'a maximum output power and post this information here. Graphics cards usually have some requirements.

I'm can't recommend any cheap GPUs because I'm never used any of them, but you shoudn't even check Nvidia cards if you looking for something cheap, AMD Radeon is your choice.

Anyway if you give some price in $ somebody might help you.

If I was you I'm probably add extra money and bought some used high performance GPU like HD6850 on ebay from good seller.

For such money I can only recommend to find used GPU, but probably somebody else can give you better advice.

You still can buy new low-end GPU for such money, but it's from my point if view it's won't be efficient spending because good GPU start from ~$140-150.

You -might- be fine with just a GPU upgrade, I've tried playing it on my laptop which has 4 gigs of RAM, a kinda crappy processor and a kinda crappy video card, and while it doesn't play very well it does play against the AI 'ok'. Its not going to be the best experience though... but it might do it

If it were me I'd try and save up ~$550 ish and buy a new mobo, processor, ram, video card and hard drive (Case too if you need it)

But if you want to keep costs down and keep your current rig... I'd probably go with a radeon 7750. That rig would probably play PA well enough, I don't know about multiple planets thoug

This card will at least run game on lowest settings, everything else you'll see. Don't forget to grab latest drivers from Nvidia website.
