I just recently have made my way into Uber Ranked matches. A few of my games have come down to my opponent microing their army more effectively while I manage my base instead of watching our units clash. I was wondering what are some UI mods that will make base management, construction, and economy maintenance easier so that I can focus on micro managing my units more effectively.
Before getting into mods, are you using all the vanilla UI gives you? Camera anchors are a good one. Also don't forget the PIP (provided you have a suitably powerful machine as it does lower perf a bit). For example keeping a PIP open on your base allows you to manage things without leaving the main battle. Other things that many good players don't always know in my experience: A factory set on infinite build can make one off units by holding the cntrl key when selecting. A good example, in my opening build I set my first factory on infinite and to make a combat unit (e.g. dox of bolo) and then cntrl click a few fabbers (all this is done *whilst the factory is in production* something others miss). This will make the fabbers at the start, and then the factory goes on making the combat unit thereafter. Loose a fabber and need more- cntrl click another without messing with the infinite build. Also, give fabbers long build queues (especially ones working on pgens, basically I try to give them enough to keep them going all game), and make use of area builds for mex. Many players insist on manually placing mex as *early* versions of area build could give somewhat unpredictable results, however lately I've found the paths it uses almost always optimal so you may as well use the time it saves for other things. Making full use of rally points is another useful trick- I usually rally vehicle factories in the direction I'm expanding which gives my fabbers some basic cover without me having to do anything. Also using area patrol on air factories is a useful idea for fighters- it prevents lone bombers being able to sneak in and get fabber kills. You'll still need to micro your fighters if someone comes in with a sizeable air force of course.
hotbuild is the big one tracking pips can be useful for following an army infinite build on by default may think of more later.
