Good small HD gaming TVs/monitors? (no input lag)

So I got a new TV (as some of you may know, I sent a M2AF) but I feel that it has input lag, so I might have to trade it in since all I do on it is game and even having the tiniest bit of extra lag is bad in games like CoD. I can't really blame any situation I do poorly on on it, but it just feels like I'm playing worse in general (not necessarily doing bad, just being slower I guess). I will keep playing on the TV to make certain that it is indeed input lag and not just me getting used to the new TV, but I'm pretty sure it's lag.

Anyway, it's a 22 inch and I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about gaming TVs specifically or what options I have.

I've been wondering this, as well. I just changed up from the Google search I had been doing previously, and here's some stuff I dug up.

    * IGN also recommended something along the lines of this product in an article they wrote on the subject.

Oh you are amazing, Organous. I will definitely check out all (or most) of these TVs when I get home. Thank you a lot! :D

    I personally recommend a Sony Bravia 34"

It's 1080i and probably the best TV I have ever used for gaming. No input lag and great quality. But I lost the remote a while ago and god it gets annoying not having one.

Please tell me you aren't using 1080i, Futtbuck.

I'm getting an Asus VH236H monitor supposedly today from Amazon.com. They used it in EVO (big fighting game tournament) 2 years back, so if it works for them, it should work for me. And it's cheap (~$150 with rebate). I'll give opinions once I get it.

Also heard some Alienware monitor (95% sure it's the Optx AW2210) has a range of 0-5ms response time, which is nuts. Runs about $300.

Side by side, I see no difference in 1080p worth paying for.

    I didn't mention 1080p whatsoever, just don't use 1080i.

    Why?

Because it only gives you half the image at a time, so really it's like you're watching half the quality. If stuff moves around, it won't be as smooth as if you were to use progressive scan (p)

    Total Nooob question:
    Does that mean 720p > 1080i?

Yup. Because as I said, when there's a lot of motion involved, there's a smoother picture. Why it's like that, I have no idea. I'd normally check the google for more info, but my tv just arrived, so I'm going to rearrange my room a bit.

1080i creates a half an image at twice the framerate, so it makes motion more smooth. I dun get wut u doggin on 1080i for.

If you're using it to read a digital book the words might be a little fuzzy but other than that it should be fine.

I think you're getting things mixed up, but still, p>i. Seriously, try playing in 720p for awhile and notice the difference.

According to my mom, we're not trading in my TV. >_>

However, I read through this anyway because KNOWLEDGE IS POWER and saw that there is a cable specifically for the Xbox (yeah there are others, but I want the Xbox one) that eliminates a certain kind of lag.

"If it's an X-Box 360 you need to hook up, there is an official Microsoft VGA Cable which will accomplish the same thing with much less work."
Microsoft VGA Cable hyperlinks to the product, but the link is broken. :(

Thank you, though, I'll be looking for a Microsoft VGA Cable.

Also, that thing about lag testing with Rock Band 2 will come in handy. My parents buy like all the GH/RB games so I'm sure they have it.

"Unacceptable (unplayable) delay is over 34 milliseconds, or anything higher than 2 frames. Typically, this is a point when timing-sensitive gamers will even feel a delay at the menu screen or with the cursor when selecting a character." (Shoryuken Source)

These tests are done with the NO user input method, which mean's they're like 95% accurate. The first picture out of 2 is the audio/video results, the 2nd pic is proof of using the special guitar autocalibration method. Here they are:
    480i (A/V cable):

1080p [or at least it says... Not sure what it actually is. It's either 1080p or 720p(HDMI cable)]:

Not sure why my phone downsized some of the images.
Well... back to my shitty old TV, I guess. I absolutely cannot handle playing with that much lag on top of normal online lag.

EDIT: Editing out the image tags because they're stretching the page.
