Why does the default sniper have gold crit? All other default classes, while not optimal, still somewhat makes sense. I do know crit endorsement increases crit damage so maybe it increases headshot damage. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? Uber wouldn't put a useless endorsement on gold slot right?

I think all it does is increase crit chance, but I think some bodyshots are given that Crit bonus as well...at least that's what my bro says.

It adds crit chance and increases the damage dealt by crits, including all shots fired while juiced.

I'm not sure if it allows crit bodyshots, but it would allow crits with the SMG (yeah, you have more than one weapon!) and increase your damage while juiced

Certainly not optimal, but not useless either

Crits have absolutely nothing to do with bodyshots/headshots. Whenever you fire, you have certain amount of random chance to shoot a critical shot, which simply does more damage. Both the SMG and Sniper rifle can do this, but without a crit shot endorsement the sniper has a very, very low chance of shooting a critical shot.

Critical shot endorsements increase the probability of a crit shot as well as increase the damage of a crit shot. However, the probability is still relatively low, which is why crit shot endorsements are really only practical on classes like the assault and gunner who can increase their base crit shot chance through skill upgrades.

It's also worth noting that when juiced every shot is critical, so the crit endorsement also increases your damage output while juiced.

Actually I'd say they're only worth it on an assassin, as it's the only class capable of "forcing" a critical at will - due to cloak lvl 3.

Everyone else's crits are "random", and "random" is another word for "useless". Any good player will tell you that if you can't rely on something, don't bother with it.

So yeah, as a sniper that emphatically uses his SMG, if I want damage enhancers I'll pick RoF, Clip Size and Reload Speed every-*******-time over crit chance. Not only are they wayyy better and more reliable for the SMG, they're also way better for the Sniper.

So no, no real purpose on anyone but the Assassin.

I find that a little crit on the assault will trigger very often due to the rapid fire of his rifle so I run bronze, good thing about this is that while the assault does peanut damage over long range, when he crits the damage is much better for long shooting so running a bronze crit is allowing me to harass far away players much more often :p

The assassin crit is 15%, not all crits are born equal. Crit on an assassin is useless, RoF is better for Silver slot (as we all know gold is for armor).

Yes on a damage modifier of 15%

    +25% on gold crit = 35%. Significant.

Don't misunderstand me though, I still wouldn't touch it. My assassin runs gold armor, silver RoF and bronze....something... Skill regen I think, not sure.

I'm saying that the only class that has any practical use for better crits is the assassin, which is the only class that can force criticals to happen at it's behest.

Still doesnt make much sense, since you usually only attack once out of cloak and it's immediately followed by a grapple that should finish the opponent. Critical chance is probably the most useless endorsement for the assassin.

Run gold crits on a Gunner and get at least level 2 Deploy (preferably level 3). Use it, rev up and you'll see a stream of purple.

Disagree. The increase in crit probability combined with the gunner/assaults skill upgrades means that a significant portion of your shots come out critical, you might as well consider it an increase in firepower.

Crit on a gunner is so handy for range, just running bronze will net you some powerful long shots as you spray :p added to the accuracy, slowdown and crit boost of deploying you are deadly.

    • Gold Crits on Gunner.
    • Sneak up behind an enemy team and deploy.
    • Get Triples and 'Round The Horns like they're going out of style.

Actually, without a crit shot endorsement, you can't shoot a crit shot at all.

However, if i remember correctly, one of the Uber developers say it IS possible to shoot a crit shot without an endorsement, due to a small bug in the programming.

But that's like a 0.01% chance to shoot one, so don't get your hopes up.

I like how you you disagreed with me, but then supported my claim in the very next line. Yes, I'm aware of what you're talking about, which is why I said "very, very low chance". I think it's a bit more than .01%, though, probably something like .1%. I've seen crit shots without the endorsement, it happens.

Where are you getting 25%? I'm pretty sure it's +5%.

We're talking about guaranteed cloak 3 crits(which are less so than regular ones), which do +15% damage. Gold crit endorsement adds 25% crit damage, hence +35% damage using shurikens out of cloak 3. While it does add +5% chance, that's irrelevant in this case as the crits are guaranteed.

Thanks for reiterating the exact same thing the other guy said. My question is, how are getting the number "25%", because I'm fairly certain it's incorrect. Gold crit has a 1.25 damage multiplier on critical shots, however I do not believe that stacks on top of the base critical damage multiplier. I said +5% before, but I was looking at the numbers wrong. I'm pretty sure that gold crit results in a 25% total crit damage increase.

Oh God, why are crits so goddamn annoying to understand for me?

Ok, so you're saying gold crits changes your total multiplier to 1.25, not increase by 1.25, correct? Because I'm interested in understanding the crits endorsement on assassins since every attack during juice are crits and it's the assassin's business to be juiced.

So grimbar said assassin's base critical modifier is 15% right? So how do the endorsements pan out on her? Bronze 18%, Silver 21%, Gold 25%?

Dammit, I'm only grasping at this now.
