Gold Accuracy on Assault.

    I don't understand why more people don't use it. The pros I see with it are Gunners and Tanks can be killed from a much farther distance which means you will most likely win any mid-long fight with a Gunner or Tank with much less risk than before.

    The only cons I see with this is in a close-mid range game you will most likely lose to any other Assault not running Accuracy because they get their charge and bomb faster. Assuming you both have one of each stocked up, it can be a fair fight. In a mid-long range shootout you will win every time assuming your aim is good enough.

    Does anyone else run this setup seriously? I used it today and liked it quite a bit. Opinions?

    Like you said, good setup. Assault rifle becomes the main attraction, and boy does it gather a crowd :roll:

    Problems:
    -Gold armor is a good replacement in a shootout depending on other factors.
    -Gold skill is a good replacement, relying instead on skills and maneuverability over the rifle.

    Just an fyi Scathis, the MNC balance god uses Gold Accuracy. Now I am not 100% sure what his build was but I think it was:
    Gold Acc.
    Silver RoF
    Bronze Armor

    ....Jus' saying...

    I go RoF/acc/skill, but that's just because the assault rifle does terribly at long range. Silver is more than enough to handle mid well. The silver ads isn't terrible for long range either. Long range you'll be doing 8 damage per shot so it's really only useful for stopping health regen and picking off people that turn their aft ends towards you for an extended period(idiots).

    Accuracy is incredibly useful as an assault, I just think gold is going a bit far. I'm a terrible assault though, so I could be wrong.

    You have a grenade launcher for long range. Tanks and gunners are big easy targets. Acc doesn't help GL, and is therefore a half wasted endorsement.

    I prefer to use my grenade launcher and bomb throws. I can usually land bombs right where I want them (or nearby) even at long range. Not so good with headcrabs yet but I mostly use em for ring outs or to force gunners to retreat.

    Bombs have a cooldown though, short it may be, its still there. I guess I like this setup because I cannot use the Gnade launcher very reliably. I'm only a decent Assault after all.

    Been testing out gold acc/silver roc/bronze clip. I think switching gold and silver may be a better idea as I still have very little luck killing people from far away with the rifle.

    Doesn't help that unzoomed, the ARs damage drops off to 8/bullet at roughly 20-30ft

    I run gold crit, silver RoF, and bronze accuracy. Generally most of my assault rifle shots turn into a critical and never go back to normal untill I reload. The 25% extra damage surprises other pros and usually gives me the upper hand. Silver RoF because the rate of fire on the assault rifle caps at silver (did some closed server tests, it takes the exact same amount of time to empty a clip with silver and gold.). Accuracy just helps with any ridiculous spread. If you're fighting long range, you should be zooming in anyways so Accuracy is kind of a waste at anything higher than bronze, anyways.

    I use the Grenade launcher to dispose of bots and turrets more often than I use the assault rifle to dispose of players... Hence why I use Gold RoF, Silver Acc, and Bronze Skill.
    Is there a noticeable difference with bronze skill recharge for the assault? Anybody knows and would recommend something else?

    No offense, but I'd rather hear this from Uber, especially considering the default endorsements for Assault is Gold RoF, Silver Clip and Bronze Skill

    Bronze: .09 seconds 11 rounds / second 2.27 seconds to fire a clip
    Silver: .08 seconds 12 rounds / second 2.00 seconds to fire a clip
    Gold: .07 seconds 14 rounds / second 1.79 seconds to fire a clip

    Bronze clip: 35 rounds 280 - 1365 damage

    Base: .1 seconds 10 rounds / second 3.50 seconds to fire a clip
    Bronze: .09 seconds 11 rounds / second 3.18 seconds to fire a clip
    Silver: .08 seconds 12 rounds / second 2.92 seconds to fire a clip
    Gold: .07 seconds 14 rounds / second 2.5 seconds to fire a clip

    Silver clip: 40 rounds 312 -1560 damage

    The damage is a base spread not including critical shots.
    BAL_A_RIFLE_DMGFULLRNG =1536 Maximum distance you will do the highest damage.
    BAL_A_RIFLE_DMGFALLOFF =2560 Maximum distance you will do the lowest damage. (Any damage at all.)
    BAL_A_RIFLE_DMGFULLRNGZ =2048 Maximum distance you will do the highest damage while zoomed.
    BAL_A_RIFLE_DMGFALLOFFZ =2560 Maximum distance you will do the lowest damage while zoomed. (Any damage at all.)

    On a personal note. I run Gold Skills / Silver Accuracy / Bronze RoF. In my own opinion your skills (Bomb and Charge) are your main attack and survival abilities so skills recharging quickly is at most importance. Silver Accuracy cuts the unzoomed rifle down to a level where you can assure all your rounds hit with good tracking of targets within the rifle butter zone. Bronze RoF is suitable enough to allow you to kill bots and turrets (while juiced) quickly enough if you control the middle ground with the GL. It is, however, much easier to deal with snipers if you have Gold or Silver RoF for the GL.
