First: If any of you have a better titel for this threat please let me know - my english is not the best When you want to give a selected unit an order for example to move right next to a building, you often cant give a moveorder because instead of clicking on the ground, your mouse would click the building although you can see that the mous is NOT pointing on the building. if you move the camera more to a from-the-top-view you can give the moveorder to that point. This behaviour is depending on the viewangle and the zoomlevel. i find this really annoying because this often dont let you control the game without moving the camera "over" the place where you want to give an order. especially while giving orders within your base. sure this is alpha and probably atm there are other things to do, but i know the behaviour from other games that where finished and that dont solve this issue. i want point to out, that this is an important issue to have a good gameplay for me. what do you think?
I believe this behaviour is caused by slightly-too-tall selection boxes - i.e. your mouse looks like it's aiming at the ground, but in fact it is aiming at the (invisible) selection box. This may require a bit of neatening up as we get closer to release. I've learnt not to try and give orders too far away from the centre of view, but this was annoying to begin with!
Thank you for your reply! Yes you can do this as a workaround, but it should not be the solution. in the sperical maps its is difficult to get an overview of whats going on. so i must be able to click on all that i can see. and not wasting time before this to scroll. would be great to get this fixed (mhhh "fixed" - it is not a bug, but anyway )
I agree it gets a bit annoying, escpecially when trying to get fab's to assist a unit thats close to a building I always end up telling them to assist the building unless I zoom in a lot.
