General Strategy

    So I havent played the game in a while. Im looking for some advice for general build orders and what to build with building factories/power and what should the first 10 units be composed of?

    I'm not sure what the ultimate purpose of your question is, but when playing against the AI, I tend to build:

    Commander: 2 Mex, 1 energy, 1 energy storage, first factory (it will hardly build anything but fabbers anyways, so I tend not to make it a vehicle factory), 5 T1 energy, second factory, lots of T1 energy until I hit T2 fabbers.
    First factory: 2 fabbers, one or two scouts (if air, often one scout and one bomber for early harass), fabbers on repeat

    Even if you decide to not energy and mass storage immediately (I tend to defer mass storage until a bit later), you should build one of each very early on. The first storage building increases your storage capacity by a lot, well in excess of 5x.

    I haven't played against humans yet, but I presume you'd want to have a bit more defense against early harass.

    I actually find it hard to justify building metal storage unless you are surrounded by tons upon tons of mex. The sheer amount of storage will mostly just produce a lot of VO alerts that you need moar metal if you build it shortly after only having like 6 or 7 mexes.

    There isn't really a general strategy.

    I have strong feelings against how t1 Air is, so right now I start with Factory, 2 mex, energy in that order. the Rest is personal choice; usually getting a offensive early game is best as they focus less on expanding. gain map control with metal extractors. Right now air fabs get taken out really easily by t1 so that reason alone i'd avoid starting with Air fabs. Building a storage is useful within the first 5 minutes because it gives you some breathing room.

    From playing alot of AI recently with friends, pushing with bots is useless after 10minutes because they lack AA and just get destroyed really fast by whatever they have.
    Vehicles are good... I dislike air cuz T1 hummingbirds take out t2 air way too easily so I just don't bother with anything but AA.

    get t2 eco up and flank late game. I wouldn't bother with t2 air except for flanking because they get taken out so easily late game.

    and if you're near land and water. t2 naval and t2 bots work really well.
