I have found a way to "exploit" gapshots, although it works for other bots, just not as well and not with great results. You can "corral" bots, that is push them in whatever direction you want them to go in. This can and will keep your gapshot alive until it just dies on its own, like they do after a certain period of time. So, I can just spawn a gapshot, and just keep it pushed in a corner or wherever, where it can fire its rounds over and over safely.
Yes. We have been doing this for awhile now on the XBox version. Not even sure if they consider it a problem therefore they might not even change it.
I don't really see the use of it. As far as I know, longshot turrets have more armor, are stationary without requiring anyone to push them around, and are definitely far more effective even at 1.3. Gapshots cost $100 to spawn, longshots cost $75 and it only takes a few seconds to hack it. But hey, if you prefer sitting in a corner blocking a robot while in the same time you could just as well be killing others, go right ahead. As long as you're on the enemy team, I don't mind.
Yeah, you can corral them, but they walk back out, so you constantly need to push them back. This is only really effective if you are host and you can push them around. If you're not host, it won't work quite as well. QFT
I'd say it's an easy target unless babysitted by a support sitting on juice on a team with great map control. Other than that, 3.3 is much better than gapshot. At everything except pro-killing, because a gapshot round is 1/2 damage to most class's health when a longshot is 1/4, so even if they fire 3x faster per second for the entire length of the game when kept alive, don't expect too many kills. They do clear bots better so pros can focus on other pros, and bursts of gapshots are good for clearing turrets.
You are forgetting that Gapshots have seeking rounds, as the Longshots do not, making them much more lethal. It is much harder to get away from Gapshot fire than Longshots.
Longshots do more damage a second for a longer period of time than a gapshot. Therefore, targets not wishing to move out of the way of "Death from Above" are more vunerable to longshots, especially ones with longevity. Thus, turrets in range, and bot waves, and NOT pros, was a correct statement for me to make.
