Before I get started, i'm aware this is most likely been posted somewhere before, but i used the search and couldn't find what I was after.

Anywho, I'm planning on purchasing a new computer in a few months, obviously I want to get this game, so any ideas on what kind of specs i'll need to run this game? (And run it well, really well)

Specifically graphics card, ram, cpu and if dual monitor support would be a wise investment.

    Thanks.

Best bet is to wait until all the optimizations go in, until then you can't know for sure.

also to see if the different game modes (online, single, LAN depending on preference) have different specs or at least optimization angles.
besides, running it really well is probably not needed before release time (given the other aspects aside from the player hardware), at which time the recommended hardware would be probably different from now, at least price/performance-wise.

It works fine (ish) on my i5 2500k @3.7GHZ, 8GB RAM and a Radeon 6850 1GB. I paid about £1000 for it 18 month ago, so you should probably get something equal or better for about £600 or less now.

that's another reason I'm usually hesitant with giving hardware recommendations. Every gamer I met has different definitions for labels likes playable, fine, good, fluent etc..., which makes hitting the same level as expected difficult. The easiest may be the over the top hardware tip, where a level below shows no recognizable difference. But for this case you can be rather unspecific, as in "sort by price descending and buy from the top". ;)

not to shot down any helpful suggestions, just to keep in mind the possibly different perspectives.

I'm talking 20-30fps with no real lag or problems. However I've just gone from a 60Mbps connection to a 3Mbps connection and that seems to have made a huge difference, like pretty much unplayable lag.

I think I will be telling my new housemates that we will be getting cable and I will be covering the difference.
