My game freezes during the start of the game and end of the game. I can't select which planet to spawn on because it stays frozen until 2 minutes in the game. After the game I have to alt-f4 because it freezes so badly at the "Victory/Defeat" screen. Any help?
Hello, Would you mind posting a Dxdiag of your system specs? It could help to diagnose the freezing problem.
You only have 4 GB of RAM, which may be causing the freezes. Code: Memory: 4096MB RAM Available OS Memory: 4094MB RAM While the rest of your system is fine, please focus on upgrading your RAM, as 4GB will limit you to single-planet systems.
Is there no other way to go around this? I don't think ram capping out should warrant a freeze. I also have 8 gb virtual memory as a pagefile on my harddrive.
AFAIK ram is the limiting factors of playing this game since it requires a lot for multiplanets. 8gbs of RAM is suffiecient so go for that!
Hello fellow Death, The page file effectively frees up memory, which can then be used by PA, but as soon as PA itself starts using the pagefile, things will slow down hugely due to the fact that hard drives are simply much slower than ram. However, you should still be able to play on the smaller systems, such as the ones in Galactic War and 1v1 ranked. But yeah, as others have mentioned, more RAM is better. Especially for this game.
